We should buy talent and a good striker who's not playing in the Premiership. I'd like someone like Gameiro and then Wickham, Chamberlain type of signings. Don't think the latter would want to come though.

I'm not sure exactly why, but I'm not that pissed off with Carroll. It seems Ashley and Llambias got the ball rolling on this one and eventually led him to leave the club. I don't think he deserves all the shit that is thrown at him, even though it's questionable when a player who supposedly had such affection for the club couldn't wait four months for a new contract. Hope we bring him back someday.

We won't get a better striker for the money we get, regardless of the amount. Finding people who score goals with some sort of consistency in the Premiership is extremley hard. To me he is invaluable.

Oba signs on loan for Birmingham until end of season, will be interesting to see him again.

Did Pardew say where in Sweden Carroll was going to get his injury checked out?

He's incredibly ambitious and undeniably talented, but I think he'll have a mental breakdown at some point. Judging from interviews he's been pretty much isolated with his dad playing football and working out his whole life. Good player though.
