Pardew knew what his role was going to be though, and it says quite a bit about his ambition. We won't get a proper manager until Ashley sells the club and by the look of things that won't happen until 2016. Happy days.

This,100% Fully agreed. The loss of him playing-wise is hardly being discussed. Of course it's a blow to this season, but he is not the 8th best player of all time which his transfer fee suggests. Looking forward to tomorrow's game. Would be fantastic if Ranger could get a goal and Barton/Nolan could do what they do best.

The perfect example for any young player. Stood by his club and fought for something he believed in.
