I am really sorry to hear that. There is support all over this forum if you know where to look. Start in Chat if you haven’t already.

Ramsey, Wissa, + last minute Isak replacement?
-
It's such a difficult situation, isn't it. The last thing you want to do is waste the money which could legitimately transform us into title contenders. That's why I think he might go without a replacement. I hope not, but I think it's possible if Eddie judges it best in the short-term to get him out of the club.

Best of luck at the hospital.

Being charitable, it's possible that today was some sort of deadline for him to make himself available for the squad on Saturday? And since he's still 'training' it makes sense that him not being available for the game is the beginning of him being 'on strike'. I agree with what others are saying about not letting him leave without a 'replacement'. What Eddie needs to decide now is whether the negative consequences of him staying outweigh what we would miss with him gone and no replacement. And it appears as if all of the replacements we were interested in are gone, and if he does go and we try to bring in a replacement, every club in the world knows we're pretty desperate and have money to spend. All that said I think the only way he goes is if Eddie judges it's better for the club in the short-term, on balance.

Agree we need two. There's been a lot of chat about who Wissa 'replaces', though, with the vast majority of it being that he replaces Wilson. It's more nuanced than that, IMO. Wissa replaces Isak's goals once you factor in the penalty discrepancy. In fact, I'd really struggle to identify a realistic striker target who would be a better 'guaranteed' replacement for the goals we'll lose if Isak leaves.

Aye it looks like it was one knee injury which kept him out for three months prior to joining us.
-
ICC we entered that territory on 17th July.
-
Wissa replaces Isak’s goals (more or less). However, he doesn’t replace his ‘status’ in the squad as a young player whose value will increase. The former is more important than the latter.

Interesting. Could’ve sworn you can’t get a pint of Guinness in a Gallowgate bar.

You’ve been drinking one of the shite rip-offs, and so have I. Moorphys, I think.

I’m not massively confident either but a reminder that Isak was useless after the league cup final last season and we got plenty of goals and results. -
Yeah he’ll make such a difference to our fortunes this season either way I think. BDB is class but only getting older, some rotation there would be great and Sven’s ability to play the pass into midfield or out wide is massive.
-
What’s the vibe on Sven these days? Fit? Wait and see? He makes a massive difference this season IMO if he’s able to play 30 games.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (playing for Leeds United)

Was always open minded about this but happy for those who woke up screaming after having nightmares about it. -
Another one which improves the quality of the squad but people can’t brag about to their mates who support other teams because they’re somewhat of a known quantity. Tough summer for the bairns who want their shiny new toys. Squad starting to look a lot better.
