Whatever happened to him,he was at your lot wasnt he SAFC? Aye he had a 6 game loan spell, from Man Utd, in the same season as Given did at Roker. He wasn't owt special but he got 1 or 2 assists if I recall rightly. Last I heard he was playing in America after a spell in the lower divisions. Terry Cooke actually cracked it pretty good in the MLS, he plays for the Colarado Rapids now, one of their star players - Saw a YouTube clip of him yesterday of him modelling at their kit launch. Looked slightly bemused. One of the most overated players I've seen at City. He could pass but he no influence whatsover, but everyone thought he was great. I thought he was shite. Interesting character. Played for Germany at USA '94, had a short spell at City, went back to Germania, got done for some fraud dealie, only to make a glorious return to action in a recent charity match - He was the bloke who Boris Johnson did that headbutt tackle thing on. Legend Absolute Shite. We got mugged on that deal - Swap for Nicky Summerbee wasn't it?

Proper cult hero. Aside from being the grandson of the guy who bombed Old Trafford (According to all the songs and tshirts ), he's also beaten cancer, and was the coach of Lillestrom when Newcastle beat them in the Intertwobob earlier this season. Plus he has the dubious distinction of being my first favourite City player. What a star He however, was shite. Signed him on loan when Royle's side were sliding towards the drop. Jeezus we had some shite back then.

Wow...this is like a whos who of those Pannini sticker albums... How about...Stuart Ripley
-
Yes, once. 25 for City in 03/04.

Luck? mackems.gif mackems.gif Yes, that's right. All luck. If Joey Barton was in that position the exact same result would have occured because it all down to luck and Getafe's defence. What a load of shite. What are you talking about? I never said it was all down to luck and Getafe's defence
-
I couldn't believe that when I read it...but jeezus - 23 goals against in 30 games. They must have someone(four) out injured cos theyve been hopeless tonight and that left back looked like he was stuck in cement as soon as Messi picked up pace. The marking on Etoo there for the 5th...jeebus. I've got no idea how theyve managed to conceed so few goals, they look shite!
-
Right, he goes past 4 players and the goalie. The first one is purely down to luck, the defender misses his tackle and Messi holds him off as he barges into him. The second one is great skill and pace to stay away from him. Third one (The left back) never makes any attempt to tackle him, absolute statue. Fourth one (Centre half) lunges in with Bramblesque naivety - and while Messi almost knocks it past him, he still gets a toeend on the ball and that gives him the angle to go around the goalie and takes all the pace off it for him to retain control. Fith one (goalie) is candy from a baby. Some great skill in there but for me there is far, far too much luck involved for it to be considered a great goal. Maradona was in complete control from the moment he got the ball, no-one came close to taking it off him. BTW, if goals against defenders as shite as these are allowed to count as great, David Nugent vs Palace earlier on this season was better IMO.
-
Was nowhere near as good as I was expecting after reading all the comments on here. Nice skill on the halfway line but the defending is absolute shite...the centre half commits so early. Its really well done but its nowhere near the best goal I've seen this season and certainly nowhere near Maradona's.

Just reading KUMB (West Ham forum). Apparently, aside from dicking them over in the 1st half tonight, SWP was also the player who injured Dean Ashton in that England training session at the start of the season... He's not too popular.
-
I'lll tell you what, for the first 18 months of his Chelsea career, Joe Cole was utter shite. Now hes the dog's danglies. I think we're seeing a very similar thing with SWP here, he's been playing well in recent weeks and this has been the icing on the cakes, 2 absolute top quality goals. I'm backing him to turn it round and establish himself there over the next few seasons like Cole has done. If they don't want him he can come back to City - I'd crawl over broken glass and carry him on my back to have him in a City shirt again. Top fkn drawer.

Essien and Carragher deserve the nomination more than any 2 of Gerrard, Fabregas and Giggs. And I aint having Ronaldo taking both awards. Ya he can have the main one but not the young one when theres a perfectly viable alternative (By which I mean a City player) available.

The picture of Paul Scholes' little general... I was going to post a picture of him and Wayne Rooney (You know, cos he's a knob) so I put "Scholes Rooney" in google image search...I find it someone interesting that the 2nd picture is the one in question. Funny? Not really. But at least you know what to search for if you want to see Paul Scholes' cock.

Going to be one of these at the CoMS too. Up by the end of this year I believe. Heard very similar stories about ours - Obviously environmentally friendly, helps the local community, pays for itself in surplus...Suprised more aren't looking at it.

I'm here all week.

TBF while that is expensive, both sets of fans will be saving on travelling expenses so its not so bad...

Carragher deserves to be there more than Gerrard IMO. Fabregas is the token London vote, unless he's been nominated for the ammount of entertainment he's given park players while missing fook loads of sitters. 1. Krustiano Ronaldo (the twat) 2. Didier Drogba 3. Paul Scholes You can tell the nominations are sent out in January or so. Kevin Doyle? He's done nowt for months. Not giving Ronaldo both so I say Richards. He's obviously the best one there by a gajillion miles. Obviously. 1. Micah Richards 2. Aaron Lennon 3. Cesc Fabregas Rooney is shit.

Thats the league championship trophy from back in the day isnt it...and the Charity Sheild...

I don't like Robbie Keane. Always drops too deep and tries to do too much, primary reason for his poor goalscoring record of late - practically playing like a midfielder at times. Plus when he messes it up he always whinges at everyone within shouting distance about how it was their fault. Also has the worst celebration ever. EVER. Berbatov is miles better.

I don't see how anyone can watch all this football. Wigan....Chelsea...Barca....does anyone have the patience to sit thru 4 whole games? I never bother with the spanish stuff anymore. Usually bored off me tits by 6. In other news, come on Spurs. I want Wigan down in the division where they belong. And them getting relegated would be a good start.

If we hadn't have bought Shearer, who would you have liked?

Huh? Bergkamp played for Inter... -
He had already signed for Newcastle by the time Leeds went down IIRC. Left them in january one year to go to West Ham on loan/short term deal, they went down and he signed for Newcastle. Only one relegation on his CV, he's no Nigel Quashie
-
He'll never manage again. Hearts not in it anymore.
-
Only time I remember was at the end of the Liverpool game in '96 when we got relegated - Alan Ball was getting us to run it into the corners when we needed another goal. I threw a right strop at full time. "I hate City, never coming again! " or some such bollox. I wish I would have stuck with that for a while longer than I did. I'd bottled it by the time Frank Clark took over...wish I would have stuck it out to miss the second relegation. Good grief we were shite.
-
And its yet another 0-0 that no-one ever looked like winning for City...
-
Charlton 4-4 West Ham? I remember something like that. I think Paul Kitson scored a hattrick
