Goalkeeper in guessing penalty wrong shocker. I don't know what other clangers there may have been as I don't care about England games enough to watch. But it's quite sad if people are getting on his back over a fairly bog standard conceded penalty.
  2. Got a massive soft spot for that shirt. Just as my interest in the club was heightening at about 10 years old. Got my name, PL badges on it and everything. Passed an old picture of me wearing it the other day when sorting through some stuff and got the urge to seek one out.
  3. I may not have read up enough but it feels like as far as the debt is concerned, it was written off as far as the new owners are concerned to make it a saleable asset because obviously there'd have been even less interest if they knew they were hamstrung for x number of years. I believe a payment had gone somewhere considering if the Government have an excuse to nab £2b I'd be shocked if they passed up the chance. But I wouldn't be surprised if most of the debt somehow gets forgotten about long term. Absolute joke that they only became a major player through someone coming in, wiping their crippling debt off in 2003 and when he gets booted out, they have the same thing happen again so they're considered saleable. All while we got due diligence sob stories from Ashley while he hamstrung us before every possible roadblock and judgement gets thrown our way because Saudis decided to take us over.
  4. Didn't realise he'd gone to Marseille on a free this summer. Starting, 2nd in the league and unbeaten. Pleased to see it; really did have hope for him.
  5. When will my heart stop hurting at the bumping of this thread.
  6. Don't think it helped that he was needing to carry our entire attack on his shoulders for large stretches. There was a period in the second half that felt like forever where everyone seemed too scared to do anything other than get it to Trippier to whip a cross in.
  7. This is why I'm not worried. It was a bloody frustrating match in which we had more than enough of the ball to put them to the sword. It's utterly shite that we even had to rely on VAR to salvage the point we did get. But we're playing the right way using a number of players most of us would've been happy to see be moved on under Bruce, let alone Howe. I think while a different philosophy, we'll see a similarity with Rafa as to his confidence in his methods rather than jumping to some ill-prepared alternative in desperation. And I also think it'll pay off in the long term when we've hopefully gotten a few more through the door in January, and/or ASM and Wilson fit ().
  8. The pen writes pretty smooth tbf
  9. I'm a child so I've been won over by this wonderful summation.
  10. Tenuous link but reminds me of that influx of youth where we really thought there was going to be a dedication to developing academy products. Hilarious outcome from that looking back. I was so sure Fabio Zamblera would be a superstar based on name alone.
  11. I feel dirty saying it but I could get on board with an all star game, as long as there's some rules in place that don't just make it a 'big 6' circlejerk.
  12. Someone sound the Mick Lowes Treason Klaxon.
  13. I won't deny the bitter side of me would find it hilarious if he ends up not even getting cup games the rest of the season.
  14. Suppose the difference with us is we should have the financial clout for more margin of error when replacing anyone who gets their head turned. Unfortunately Brighton don't have that wiggle room which makes it a lot more precarious.
  15. I genuinely hope this turns out to be a masterstroke. I do feel for Brighton. They've essentially been ripped apart because they've done too well for themselves. I know we were a part of it, but still..

    Loris Karius

Holy shit he's still available? What are we doing here?
  17. It'd be a shame to have to despise Potter.

    Dogawful Officiating

You know its bad when even Edwards doesn't have the energy to troll us over it.
  19. I try to remind myself that one of the reasons I love the guy is how calm he manages to stay all the time. But I would've loved a bit more from him than 'baffled' tbh. We're getting screwed on a regular basis; this isn't going to 'even itself out'.

    Jacob Murphy

    Stop getting Jacob Murphy wrong!
  21. If ever you needed evidence someone spent a large portion of their career under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger.
