I might just be trying to make myself feel better but I keep telling myself the adversity of the Bruce start was the springboard Howe needed on arrival and if he'd started in a less pressurised scenario we very well may not have gone on such a run.

https://www.premierleague.com/european-qualification-explained I've tried reading the Europe section multiple times and it just keeps confusing me more and more. I feel like absolute best case scenario, if everything falls in to place Europe could reach 8th? But I think I might be trying to see something that's not there and it's actually 7th.

I thought there was more chance based on domestic cup winners than Europe. I thought they'd closed the loopholes on European wins causing a pile up of additional teams from a country? I'd be more than delighted to be proven wrong.

In mental fortitude. Not mass.

Forgot about this silly little cunt. Day just gets better.

I was close to adding another line to my post but my interpretation would've been a lot more open to straight up libel charges so decided to steer clear.

No way he didn't snatch that out of some poor kids hands.

Said a while ago I imagined we'd need to achieve a top ten finish to get him in the conversation. Can honestly say I didn't genuinely believe it would happen.

A Burnley win tomorrow would keep the relegation battle entertaining among the peasants down there as well as kill off one of Wolves's games in hand as we chase 8th.

Soon enough, lad. Soon enough. Wait. Just remembered our next three fixtures.

Excellent win to really set us on the way to safety. Two more wins should do it. 3.5/10.

I've never found a stat so arousing.

Come on Villa. Help us to that top ten spot.

Of course today is the day I decide to give up on trying to find a working TV channel.

I'll be honest, if Bruce had come out with that lineup I'd be petrified. In Eddie we trust.

Who knows? Might've been different here seeing as we're not in a relegation battle.

I've no concerns over a ruthless streak at all. As you say, the Lascelles situation was handled so well that for example I don't think his thread has been bumped on here for yonks, it's an afterthought. People feared Ritchie would get special treatment as an old favourite and yet I had to go and Google just to remind myself he's registered to play. Haven't people around football also mentioned that Tindell is the 'lads' coach, a bit more personable while Howe keeps slightly more of a professional distance? It seems yet another string to his impressive bow in that he seems able to balance keeping players onside without pandering to any of them.

How's Justin getting on these days? Is he in our current 'realistic and worth buying' range? Had a soft spot for him because of his dad when he first started coming up but just seen he's been out on loan the past couple of years.

Kluivert was only 28 when he arrived. Still seems strange to me. What a waste. Fuck Graeme Souness.

Seems to be very Rafaesque in the way these soundbites keep coming out about how dedicated, meticulous and all-around great he is. Seems as much as some players may enjoy getting a year or two 'off' via charlatans like Bruce, when a true professional rolls through they quickly remember just how much of an effect a good coach can have on their career. Obviously we've also had more than a few who have made it plainly clear they couldn't ever abide by Bruce. Fills me with more and more pride and confidence in him being our manager long-term.

Might lump a bit on him being first to go.
