They probably saw his comments the other day about having 100% control over the team and thought 'getting too big for his boots, let's get rid'. Exactly my thoughts. Just feel he decided enough was enough and attempted to wrestle power from them.
-
Wtf? If it was enough, then why didn't they get him?
-
It'll probably be a draft contract renewal for 5 years with a massive payhike after he guides us to 17th on goal difference.
-
Anyone reckon he just decided he was going to stop being a yes man? With a bit of experience under his belt, a team fully behind him, try and force their hand on the contract, transfer matters? And it completely backfired? Like an ultimatum on FM.
-
I was a massive disbeliever in Golfmag at the beginning. But if we get the Pardinator, I'll readily admit I was wrong and I'll believe him in everything from this point forward. But I hope I don't have to do that. I hope to fucking God I don't have to do that.

Jol mustn't have been very good in the interview. His aim of spending a few million on Barfa full time compared to Pardew's target of Radhi Jaidi and Kelvin Davis. Game over.
-
Jol.

I think we should wear black armbands a have a minute's silence for our dearly departed. It's Liverpool, I'm sure they'll oblige.
-
Could they not have just made that agreement as and when these new owners have fully taken over? Say, Ashley taking the compensation amount off the sale price?
-
I was out when I read it on my phone. All my friends said I looked like someone had died

More and more examples of the pointlessness of Twitter. Yeah, Curbs over Pardew. Still wouldn't be happy that we've got rid of Hughton to do so. But wouldn't be as devastating.
-
That would be an immense coup. But like you say, exactly why it won't happen.

After promotion is one thing. It would've been very harsh, still, but slightly better than this situation. However, he's got us at 11th right now, whether that's with a few dodgy moments along the way or not. Doing it in November with the job he's done is a completely different thing than just after promotion.
-
What's with this ridiculous wumming, Stu? 'Cause that's the only reason I can give for this, as I can't believe someone can't understand why people are pissed off that Alan fucking Pardew is coming to take over!?
-
'Ashley is no ones fool' got me most.
-
a tardis disguised as Guti. The image in my head really amuses me right now!

Fucking genius last couple of pages here. 'We must be a selling club because I think they'd accept an offer for every player after we sold Milner for an unreal amount of money that everyone agreed was fantastic business, and then Bassong who wanted to go back to a PL team.'
-
I'll still hate Ashley. If he gets Jol, he's landed on his feet. Doesn't change that he will forever be a classless prick.
-
Yeah, no club in the world would take regular Argentinian internationals after one dodgy year each on the PL, in which they still managed to show a couple of glimpses of skill that proved all hope wasn't lost. Sort yourself out, Nixon.

We sold those players to get save money on the wage bill when we got relegated. What's the point of buying high profile names to replace them when we were in the Championship and no idea if we were going to get promoted? No, Milner, Given and N'Zogbia were all sold before the club was relegated. How can you throw Duff into the 'selling club' idea and then say we didn't sell Colo or Jose because they're on big wages and were shit at first? That's Duff all over! Except he was shit right the way through his NUFC career. Oh, and we 'cashed in' on N'Zogbia and Given? So they didn't force their move? Right, thank God you guys are here, 'cause everyone else in the world seems to have this idea that neither player was happy at NUFC and fought to get a move away. Cheers for that. Unreal.
-
Which players has Ashley taken the opportunity to cash in on, soley because their stock is high and the player didn't force his hand to move?
-
Will make for some interesting post-match interviews...
-
£12 million for Milner is an exception to the rule. The only reason no one's happy about that is it wasn't reinvested. Given, N'Zogbia, Beye, all wanted to leave and forced our hand. Martins and Duff, were you really expecting them to stay and fight for us in the Championship? There's a difference between selling players out of necessity and selling players just because their stock is high and you can make a quick buck.
