Aussie rules confuses me, all that bounce the ball every so often, hand pass, mark kick weird goal posts stuff. The violence is cool though.

They should sell all their houses, cars and designer clothes and that, and give all the money to Ken Bates of course.

Im am delighted with our squad now, whatever formation, whatever system we seem to have plenty of quality options in every position. More optimistic about the new season now than I can remember for years.

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/story_pages/sport/sport4.shtml COLE MINE SAYS ROY By Scott Loney ROY KEANE will move for his ex-Manchester United team-mate Andy Cole in the next 48 hours. Sport of the World understands Sunderland boss Keane contacted the Portsmouth hitman earlier this week. But the free transfer was held up as Cole, 35, thrashed out a six-figure pay-off from Pompey. That has now been resolved and Cole is expecting to sign a one-year deal worth £32,000 a week with the possible option of a further 12 months. The ex-England ace has spent a frustrating year at Fratton Park since his £500,000 switch from Manchester City. But Keane is convinced Cole can once again form a profitable partnership with Dwight Yorke after their Old Trafford success. A close friend of Cole's said: "Andrew is quite surprised by Roy's interest but he didn't have to think too long about making a decision. "He thinks Sunderland are going places." p.s ignore the bollocks about Martins leaving at the bottom

You forgot Luqué

In reality, and presuming no major injuries I would expect more like: Mark Viduka = 7 Obafemi Martins = 10 Michael Owen = 15 Albert Luque = 5 Shola Ameobi = 5 Alan Smith = 5 That gives us 47 goals. Then it's just about how many the others can chip in with.

How is he a gun? How can a person be a gun? Does he eject projectiles at high velocity with the aim of maiming or killing? Am I old and stupid and this is some new cool terminology?

Where's the official half-time thread?

Cunting? New one. There was a show on BBC 3 last night about the origins of the word 'Cunt'. Did you know there used to be a street in London where whores plied their trade called 'Cuntgrope Lane'? Quality That sounds apocryphal tbh. I've used cunting before though. Usual in the middle of the words 'Jesus' and 'Wept' it's not, in fact dozens of towns had similarly named streets. Smart arse

I think the kid has a point, and I see where Vic is coming from too. If people need a spur to get them going before they will sing, it's not going to be a bunch of what they might see as kids or charvas telling them they are old farts and to create some atmosphere. I see no problem with giving people the opportunity to sit somewhere they know they will be surrounded by singers though, the club could help with some kind of singing sections too. There's no doubt that good performances on the pitch are the easiest and quickest way to a good atmosphere, but how many of the good performances of the past have been fuelled by the atmosphere, from when we almost knew we were going to win before we kicked off. Its a small contributing factor, fair enough. But the lack of noise and atmosphere hasn't helped the players over the last few years. Maybe a noisy, intimidating ground is worth a 5 point head start. Maybe 10, who knows. I'm sure it makes a difference though. So what's wrong with at least trying to get things going? At the end of the day, I would rather be in a ground with people attempting to sing, make a noise, whatever, than people who arent.

What's up? It's a new thread, I'd have thought you'd have been delighted. I am! I meant I would be happy if our new academy prospect turned out to be Jesus He'd not want to play Boxing Day, though, would he? Its a big time in the Of Nazarteth household. Good point. And the African Nations Cup? Are Israel in that?
