What is the minimum height for a successful manager here then? Why do you have to be so tall? Could have a point though, Roeder was only 6'1" and BSA is 6'3¼". Trophies here we come. Maybe if Keegan wore platforms he would have brought home the bacon.

No it isn't. I used to just be able to give someone the ticket I already had, with no phoning the club required. Plus I have to rely on them actually sending me the paper ticket. Sounds like a good scheme though, I would imagine it should make things quicker if it works. If it doesn't it will be a lot slower though - I wonder what contingency plans are in place for if/when individual readers fuck up or if the whole system goes down. Chaos!

You remind me of my 7 year old nephew! Cool. I think.

No problem - anyone for a Stephen Carr v Cafu post?

That's a spot on description of Michael Owen, tbf. When Luque is anonymous he can still pull a set piece out of the hat. Good free kick and corner taker. Fair point. I don't think I've ever seen owen have a cracking game. But he scores loads. Fine by me. That's his job. If Luque can do the same why do we expect more from him? We don't from owen. Aaaaahahahahaaaaa. Maradona next please. Can anyone do a post like this that compares him to Maradona? Please. You shouldn't joke - I was watching a video of the 1986 world cup match against England and, apart from that lucky run around a few leaden-foted englishman such as Terry Butcher and Peter Reid, plus punching the ball into our goal, Maradona did very little. Luque's performance last night can therefore be compared to Maradona's in the '86 world cup

They did the same with Jason Koumas, apparently they have plenty money and will happily wait until they get the fee they want. Ended up getting 5.3m out of Wigan for him. Didn't seem bothered that the player didnt want to play for them.

Excellent, a new thread. Keep them coming. It's a chicken and egg situation for me, if we can get things moving on the pitch, suddenly these players that are dragging their heels a bit would be happy to join. Everything else is in place, City, Stadium, Support, Lifestyle, Money, all these points are easily filled here. With a good manager which we now have (touch wood) if he can start to move us in the right direction we can really snowball from here. I know money is a major draw for players but I believe if things aren't right on the pitch it's much harder to attract the right kind of player. Keegan sold the dream a few years back, and made a good squad overperform for a couple of seasons. We then reaped the rewards with players like Ginola, Asprilla, Batty, Sir Les and Shearer jumping on board, hopefully Sam can do the same in his own way.

We cudda been contenders.... What film is that off again? "I cudda been a contender" ?? Something old with Cary Grant or something.

Don't delete it! You can never have too many threads in these quiet times

Hell of a free-kick on him

Would make a change from just loaning out has-beens and never-weres to get them off the wage bill if we were to loan him out. As long as we can recall him quickly when all our strikers get crocked again

I think we will see a flurry of activity back end of next week. Its just like a game of domino rally. Could someone make a new thread please? If you read through the whole of this one (which has taken me all morning, taking the odd break to do some work), its just different people saying the same things again and again. And again. We need a new thread on here, one with new ideas and a new vision for the future. A thread about Albert Luque.

Owen fits together with papier maché and safety pins. Viduka uses a combination of rendered kangaroo bones and vegamite.

What's he been saying like? Anyone? Always thought Clarky was the consumate professional, unless forced to wear Red and White. What has he been saying?
-
New thread, cool I reckon he has disappointed so far, but watch him go this season! Double figures for goals and assists! Seriously!

We have missed a real twat on the team since bellers departed IMO. Sign him up! -

In all seriousness, I once met someone from Peru, and he really hated Chileans. -

I know, yet we still let them in ?! -

Why would Nobby guide him? People from Peru want to cut up Chileans with huge knives. -
Are you only capable of contributing in a new thread or something? I just can't be bothered to read the previous 100 posts to get up to speed, and if I don't I just end up saying something somebody else already has.

Oh good, a new thread. I blame all this fucking stretching they all do. If you keep stretching your muscles, eventually you will strain one, it stands to reason. They never used to stretch before games, and no-one was ever injured, apart from that bloke who broke his neck in the cup-final, and played on anyway.

I could be well "wide of the mark" here, but wasn't the Zog a full back when we pinched him from Le Havre? *edit* pretty sure that I'm wrong on that, after checking his Wiki. Incidentally, do you know anyone who calls him "'Super N'Zoggy'"??
-
Wouldn't be keen on playing N'Zogbia at LB anyway, but too lightweight for the position? Reckon he'd be a lot more powerful than the majority of LB's in the Premiership. I am pretty sure Zog has all the attributes to be a terrific LB but I don't think he'd put his heart into it. Considering he's unsettled as it is, might not work out, although I agree he's a far better bet than some of the names being bandied about. Would far rather see a real LB brought in and Zog given the left mid role. If Zog was up for it, he would make a superb left-back, as I have said elsewhere. Aren't Roberto Carlos and Ashley Cole also a bit lightweight? I do agree though that I he probably wouldn't want to play there, and especially in his current frame of mind would probably spit the dummy if asked to do so. Depending on the system I don't think playing there would necessarily have to be a waste of his talents either, Ashley Cole in his Arsenal days being the prime example (of course he did have a few canny players around him to pick up the pieces)

Actually I'm delighted we are trying new things. We need an alternative to 4-4-2, ideally we would have a few systems we could switch between quickly and efficiently. I think Souness had the right ideas, just no ability or clue as to how to drill it into a squad of players. I don't think switching Nobby inside is emergency playing people out of position, more using his talents where they can influence play more. Of course equally, it could be fucking bullshit and we are skint
