  1. Dubravka making it look like it could be the Toon’s day...
  2. Thought he was one of our better players in the first half with his tackling and pressing. He’s doing the defensive work of two, covering lots of ground and being a pretty effective defensive midfielder. He’s offering A LOT more than the bald donkey next to him
  3. Yeah let's enjoy a 0-7 jumping.ffs Why only seven? Pretty sure they all need hat tricks to get back in form. I don’t know why you have such an inability to understand why people are wishing, praying, for double figures. Then again, I don’t understand people who don’t want the Toon to get humped.
  4. Just going to go with Fulham 0-4 NUFC because it was the perfect bookend to the Rafa era. Farewell goals from Ayoze and Rondon too...
  5. Some outrageous suggestions for what (I would have thought) is a worst team of the decade. Thauvin was no good for us, but the worst winger of the last decade? Not having that. Hanley was perfectly serviceable and by no metric whatsoever one of the two worst defenders we've had. Liked this one from xLiaaamx - probably my only quibble is left back and I was decisive at right back. So this: Harper Simpson/Manquillo Williamson Yanga-Mbiwa Dummett Lazaar Anita-Smith-Colback Murphy-LDJ-Sameobi
  6. Funny how so many of our players lost confidence as soon as the guy instilling confidence departed. Almiron needs to have a word with ASM in the tunnel and agree to swap sides throughout the match, and when ASM is on Brewcie's side, tell him sweetly in French to fuck off and let them get on with it
  7. I'm weirdly excited for this. Having been humped by Villa, I'm anticipating City exposing every single one of Brewcie's flaws and laying on a right pasting. Of particular interest is - which eleven lambs does he send out? I see calls for Joelinton and Almiron and Shelvey to be dropped, but whoever might come in is on a hiding to nothing. Carroll against City's defence We'd have to be about the longest-priced home team in Europe this weekend. 0-5
  8. Saw nufc.com blamed him (twice) for the free kick - though that was overly harsh. I noticed Brewcie talked up Hourihane's left foot - wonder if he once said to Dubs "This boy, I've seen him do this fancy move in training..."

    Joelinton

One of the local constituents needs to write to Chi Onwurah and have her raise it in parliament. She loves to give Ashley a kicking, right?
  10. I do, so people will see he's absolutely finished. What sort of threat could Andy Carroll possibly pose the Manchester fucking City defence? Regardless of how utterly shite the options are - Joelinton, Carroll, Gayle, Muto, shifting ASM - Andy Carroll must be the worst option against whichever billion pound player they pick on the day. He could conceivably go an entire match (or until getting hooked) without touching the ball with his feet.

    Ki Sung-gone

Does the boring stuff that helps the team flow which often goes unnoticed. That's why Rafa selected him ahead of shelvey. I don’t think either are the answer and both should probably be moved on. At a sensible, forward-thinking club, sure. But at Mike Ashley FC...? Surely Ki (and Muto) would be looking to leave in January, unless they're happy with free money for nothing? Ki especially has only so many years left at a decent level.
  12. We've scored 11 goals in the league. Defenders have scored seven. Joselu is currently outscoring our entire strikeforce and midfield.
  13. Not even "big clubs" - any sensible manager would get more out of him than Brewcie is at the moment. He could be a real asset to a team that had drilled players around him.
  14. Swap out Bale for Suarez and I'll have *choke* Carragher's team thanks.
  15. Or, perhaps, he was always overrated and has actually peaked. You can’t write it off out of hand - Brazil is plain different. Adriano and Alexandre Pato both returned to Brazil in their mid-20s when they both were expected to hit much greater heights. Sure, there were reasons, but Neymar might have his reasons too. There’s got to be some explanation why he went from The One To Pass Messi & Ronaldo to... less than Ronaldinho? Less than Kaka? An excellent player, don’t get me wrong, but the label “unfulfilled potential” seems more and more apt.
  16. Harsh to say deluded - overly positive perhaps, but it’s gotta suck seeing your once-mighty team pulled back to the pack then passed. He’s gone all in on Ole, but after the (relative) shit show the past few years, can you blame him? Curious to know Froggy’s thoughts on the Ferguson-Woodward spat...?
  17. I would guess within the next two years but there's no reasoning behind the guess. The Guardian did a story on this in the past week or so - they were convinced he’d be gone in a similar time frame. It was a compelling case... EDIT: here we are https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/nov/11/pep-guardiola-manchester-city-exodus
  18. Joselu was a better player for us than Carroll ever was for West Ham, so it’s not an outrageous suggestion at all. Joselu is a poor player, but the way some around here carry on, he’s worse than Ali Daia .
  19. Yeah but dna of the club Everton mate reckons Hughes has been lined up should they bin off Silva. Please happen Could only be bettered if it was a Hughes-Moyes double act
  20. Was a strange conclusion to draw - wouldn’t have assumed hipsters would be drawn to a club literally nicknamed “The Millionaires”.
  21. Is the only thing going him for him at the moment - and that’s if you’re cheering for survival. He’s accumulated more points than expected, and looks like his team has enough about them to stay above some of the shit clogging up the relegation places. As for the rest, though, can I just direct you to the first half of my sig? His very presence here enables Ashley’s continued reign. Bruce is propping up what you term the “real issue” - his success (!) guarantees more Ashley...
  22. Obviously mooching behind Pochettinos back to make sure they could get Jose before turfing him out. Poch > Mourinho. Indeed. Happy to acknowledge that Man U are competing with Spurs this season after this turn of events. Equally as happy to maintain that Man U (and now Spurs) are in Arsenal's rear view mirror.
  23. Is this actually a thing or a hypothetical example of how playing groups disintegrate?
  24. Yeah, I know he’s been touted in the press, but I never thought Mourinho would actually go to Spuds. Hope he does - it can’t possibly end well
  25. Ended Grobbelaar before the match fixing did Edit: bringing in the backpass rule, that is.
