It's great to see him play these days. Still remember when he first joined, he looked so nervous/insecure. He's always had the talent and physicality to make it, which I assume is what convinced Rafa to commit such a big percentage of the transfer budget on him at the time. Like with Longstaff, Bruce completely ruined him. Howe should take a lot of credit for building these guys back up again.

Thought we were in full control and never really felt nervous about Wolves at all. We played some great football throughout. Great game. Only dodgy spell being after we went 3-0 up as the players seemed to assume they didn't have to put in the effort after that.
-
Playing like they don't understand the match is still ongoing Focus lads
-
If we played like Nottingham Forest when Wood was here he would have done better, but we didn't, and he didn't suit our style of play, so he was actually pretty bad for us despite giving his all. Happy he's doing well. Seems like a great guy, and as it turns out, a pretty decent player when used right.
-
Aye, he probably does it in part out of frustration if he can feel he isn't the same as he once was. Was a small thing now a few minutes ago where he pushed Elanga when the ball had just gone out, before lashing out at his team mates. Nah dude, you're just over the hill and on the way down little fucker.

VVD is such a snide little cunt. Hope someone lacerates him.

We've way too recent finally gotten rid of Cack Jogback and annoyingly mid-length hair guy from Ireland and you want us to spend money on their marginally improved regen?
-
Unless the loan agreement came with an option or obligation to buy I wouldn't want us to regardless of whether he wanted to and Brighton would loan him to us. Southampton should be all over them if its a straight loan till end of the season. Would benefit all parties involved.

They are in the best place they've been in 10 years, and can genuinely focus on looking forward with the potential they have in their squad. So much wasted energy focusing on speculating what imaginary Newcastle-fans think rather than just enjoying what they currently have and what it can be.

Lets fucking not Mackem behaviour.

If we were in a position to spend 15 to 20 million on a 5th/6th choice CM I imagine I'd be ecstatic about how things were going regardless of who it was. I beg to differ on the last statement. I think Longstaff is judged harsher than any new signing would be, which is a common theme for most local squad players with limited ability we've seen through the last ~30 years.

Yeah, and now he isn't. With Willock in most cases coming on before him too. Hopefully Miley jumped ahead of him today too.
-
The ott stuff about Longstaff and Almiron is so fucking stupid They are what they are. As a 6th choice CM (in the hope that today convinced Howe that Miley is ready for more responsibility), who is content to stay and fight for his place, knows Howes system in and out, is a great fit for the group socially and who loves the club and the area, I really struggle to imagine any club being able to find any better. He improved in the second half too, not that it changed the ridiculous abuse he got in the match thread. Can't remember him putting a foot wrong. Is it only our good players that are allowed to have bad sub-par performances without being unreasonably criticized?
-
Can become really good. Everything he tried could have come off if he just was a bit stronger and faster. Bet he does that successfully on a regular basis in the U18. Put him on the Miley diet and he'll be in contention next season
-
Despite Miley playing well all game, and had a great goal, the most impressive thing watching him is how much he's grown since last season. Literally doesn't look like the same player.
-
Sanusi extremely light weight. Can't handle Bromleys physicality at all which surprised me a bit due to how well I thought he played in pre-season.
-
Gordon passes the ball straight to a Bromley player from 1.5 meter. Time to euthanize him.
-
Hey, maybe we should play that guy that just scored a bit more often to protect Isak's fitness? He seems decent.
-
That's my assumption unless Howe says otherwise in the post-match interview.
-
Think Bruno for Joelinton was pre-planned. Barnes off for Gordon probably injury related.
-
Wise to rest Joelinton some too.
-
He's done that, albeit not to his usual standard. There's people ready to guide him to the back and give him a mercy shot to the head on the back of one sub-par half
