Have you people never seen Longstaff play? I thought his strenghts and weaknesses were fairly well known by now. We're never seeing the best of him in a game like this. Genuinely curious what you expect of him. To turn into Iniesta just because we're playing Bromley? He's had a rough first half I'll admit, but the pile on is a bit embarrassing.

They are just gambling on potential being realized. Better to pay a bit more than maybe others would have had to early, than waiting 3-4 years and having to pay 2-3x for the same player. I totally get it, but it will of course come at the expense of immediate results and with the risk that the potential might not be realized.

You're most likely right, but Man City has beaten Leicester away and West Ham who loves to give struggling teams a W at home. I'd like to see how they do away at Brentford before concluding that they have turned their form around.
