Playing at left back receiving the ball while facing towards the opposition half with opposition players in front of him is arguably one of the big reasons why he is able to do it. Put him further up the pitch or in midfield where he'll have opposition players all around him and having to receive the ball quite often with his back to goal and he won't be able to do that nearly as effective as he does now.

Bodø/Glimt got their game yesterday postponed due to their return fixture in Lisbon on Tuesday, and the Norwegian top division only started yesterday

Looks like Aina is bringing out the best of Bassey in the final battle of the lowest hanging shorts in the PL.

A 34 year old man doing 67 celebrations. He's doing it on purpose just to get negative reactions, right?
-
Great to see him getting better. I don't think his recent form has been amazing or exceeding expectation at the time of signing, but much much better than his first half season here. Hopefully this is his new standard rather than a purple patch, and fingers crossed his injury issues are behind him.

Lucas Bergvall is the one for me if the stars align and Spurs go down. Does he have any weaknesses?
-
Always had a soft spot for them since collecting Merlin football cards in the 90's and finding it hilarious that they had a 40 year old dude in goal named Ogrizovic (gris=pig in norwegian) with the most bent nose I've ever seen.

We're going to beat Barcelona next week and get knocked out by Bodø/Glimt.
-
who cares about shit city and honking madrid. Bodø/Glimt is up 2-0

Besides the usual not being able to hold onto a lead for more than a few minutes, which is just to be expected now, we were fantastic.
-
and should have had a yellow so he can't play the return fixture.

City "bought" Savinho from a City Football Group owned club (after a fantastic season on loan to another City Football Group owned club) so the fee is just internal accounting. City Football Group bought him for ~£6m when he moved to Troyes in 2022. Anyone else buying him at the time instead of man city would have had to pay over double what he went for most likely.

Depends how long Howe stays here. If he's here another 10+ years, it seems a bit silly to prepare for the time when he isn't here already now, rather than getting a system in place to get the best out of Howe.
-
Agree in general for clubs that rarely keeps the same manager for more than two seasons, but for NUFC I'm all in on the Howe dynasty, long may it last. Better to find someone who can help him achieve his vision rather than hiring someone Howe needs to adjust to.
-
Depressing how little belief the players have had in themselves this game. Complete opposite mentality to the one we saw a few days ago. They are literally just seeing the game out here without even trying.
-
Does he score against us every time he plays? Fuck I hate these spineless capitulations against Man City.
-
So message at HT was "wp lads, more of the same"?
-
Tonali with some poor game management, flinging the ball straight back to City multiple times when we could have tried to calm the tempo down a bit and keep the ball instead. Someone desperately needed to win a tactical time out there so the team could gain some focus back. That being said, we played well first half of the half and 1-1 at HT with good options on the bench to come on against tired legs in the second we can definitely get something here.

Take a time out team, close your eyes and count to ten.
-
Trippier did well last game and I hope he stays here in some capacity beyond his playing career, but man it brings a tear of joy and relief to my eyes seeing Livramento back in the squad.
-
Agreed, but he is still incredibly good despite being over rated.
-
If they actually manage to do what we did, hopefully we're ready, money in hand, to poach Bergvall, Gray and Van de Ven.

I still don't see it. He's faster than Woltemade and Wissa so will press better out of possession in our system. As for what he does up top when we're in possession? Idk, I don't see it. The penalty he won us came from him going out wide and cutting inside, so if anything isn't that just an indication that he's more suited there? I still think we could be a better team if we used our wingers more as wide forwards, and Woltemade as a deeper lying striker, and that Gordon is a better wide player than striker.
-
Only negative about that is that Howe will not be laying into the ref as much as he should be in the post match presser. That cunt needs to be tarred and feathered and blown to pieces.
