Yeah, I can sympathise with that pressure. That's partly why I'd like the club as a whole to adopt more caution with injured players to alleviate the pressure on the manager. It doesn't work if we are more careful with injured players, but still have the same requirements for results during an injury crisis.

There's been people pointing at the Tonali ban and "freak" injuries like Burn, Pope & Barnes as bad luck, but have there really been many saying the other injuries are only down to bad luck, and not a crisis that has been amplified due to the freak injuries requiring others to come back earlier which has again resulted in set backs thus prolonging the injury crisis?

Of course all our injuries aren't down to bad luck. In general I think the club as a whole should adopt a better safe than sorry approach, and maybe listen less to players when they say they are ok to play. The discussion is naturally arisen out of Botmans long term injury, but it feels very wrong to have that discussion in this thread when in this instance it seems everyone has shown caution and tried to solve the injury in the best possible manner.
  4. Surprised nobody has mentioned Souness.

Yeah, I assumed it was optimistic, but the higher the cost, the stronger the point I was trying to make is.

They're probably not wrong. Hypothetically speaking (just pulling numbers out of my ass here), if we only expand with 7000 seats and nothing else is done: The cost for upgrading is £50m. Average income pr. additional seat £30 Average of 23 home games every season (and assuming full capacity in all games) That's an additional £4,8m every season, meaning it would take 10+ years before we have recouped the outlay, before taking the loss of revenue due to reduced capacity during the expansion period, increased maintenance & running costs and inflation into account. In reality closer to 15 years. It's a different matter with our current owners if the exercise is just to please fans and report a bigger revenue in order to increase our ability to spend more money on buying players within the FFP constraints, and the actual profitability to the business doesn't really matter that much. To Hall and Shepherd it naturally made more sense to just increase the ticket prices
  8. It's never going to be perfect. Would prefer if they just kept the rule as it is. It's the time it takes to reach a conclusion that is the main issue.
  9. No doubt Just don't see them as the main threat, but they are very good players that can also hurt us.
  10. Their main threats imo are Kudus on the counter and Ward-Prowse on set pieces. Close or bring Kudus down before he's close to our box and we eliminate both threats.

And you are objectively wrong with your assessment. Nothing to "agree to disagree" about. You're just wrong.
  14. The same people who were unhappy with the line-up and/or tactics yesterday despite crying out for Howe to try something new for weeks and months. The same people who predicted a bumming against Man City, and were unhappy when we only lost 2-0.
  15. How tf do you spend 6-7 minutes to make that (very obvious with the right angle) call? Absolute garbage handling by VAR.

Not really. Maybe you just lack the ability to conceede you were wrong in some instances where you are?

I literally just looked at it with my own eyes. You're just wrong.
  19. Regen Dewsbury-Hall looking like the invisible passenger he did last year when playing against PL quality players?

I just watched it again to refresh my memory, but there's just no way that pass could have ended up with Isak other than making the pass Almiron made. It even was slightly ahead of Isak running onto it. 100% Isak botching the reception for what should have been an easy chance and most likely goal.
  21. Put on Brighton - Man City womens while waiting for Chelsea-Leicester to start. Which creeps are responsible for recruitment at Man City? Only attractive females allowed or something?

If Almiron hits the ball for Isak to run onto, it hits the Man City defender. It was a good pass which Isak failed to trap properly, but normally would have.
  23. Well rested and with the first set of sun burns & tans of the year from our warm weather training we'll crush these with some vintage high intensity pressing. It's not a fucking "must win" game btw.
  24. By whom? Irrational shitposters on here and twitter psychos, or the people in charge who by all accounts have enough between the ears to understand the massive issues we've had on top of what (from what they've acknowledged themselves in the documentary series) would be a difficult season?
  25. If we have to sell Joelinton, Bruno, Isak and Gordon, FFP won't be an issue for at least the next 3 seasons
