He's fucking seething there. He's not even trying to hide it, he's like a spoilt kid haha Wouldn't put it past him to deliberately fuck up next game just so he can point at Jones This man is hurt in the feels real bad.

Who else should do it I would ask back. Physically at least he should be able to follow and out muscle Wilson in duels.
-
After having watched the highlights, Richarlison is due a roasting after the work he did covering Wilson on corners

Cheers. A bit of both sounds like the most plausible explenation for this weird anomaly

Didn't watch as I fully expected another shit show. So, were they actually decent, or did they look good because Everton come into this match expecting a walkover?

I bet you'll find those very same words at least 100 times in the Pardew thread Bruce came into a professional team with good work ethic. Gave them more time off from the training facilities which some of the lads liked. Now it's turning on him.

Has there been any match since Bruce came in where we were "likely to win" before it was played? Somehow though they drag an unexpected win out of their ass from time to time without anyone being able to explain how beyond pointing at individual player performances. After Rafa left, except when the takover talks were going on beginning of last year, I've been and am now in the hope-everything-goes-to-shit-camp, in the vague hope that it triggers an ownership change one way or another if keeping the club afloat financially harms Ashley himself directly. We know we won't get adequate players in, we know Bruce is incompetent, we know he won't get sacked until it is too late and even if we get a few jammy results that secures PL status, next season will be exactly the same as this and last season.

Will be nice to see a good Norwegian player in England again who doesn't play for Man Utd or Liverpool. Hope he does well, despite the team struggling for results.

Not taking anything away from Darlows performance, but Dubs is better and should be starting when fit.
-
I haven't seen very much of him, but from memory Billing seems like a budget Hayden.
-
Playing in a settled system and with better coaching who knows, but right now he just seems like a liability.
-
Still think ASM will save his ass. Confidence is getting lower though.
-
In fairness to Roeder he is the only one out of that lot that actually managed to turn around results by "going back to basics" when he saved our season when he was interim manager. I wouldn't really put him in this list tbh. Him and Hughton are in the same bracket for me.

Nah, the very reason he left was because he couldn't get the assurances he needed. If he came back I'd trust that he got whatever he felt was necessary in order to improve the club. That of course also means that he won't be back unless it is related to a takeover.

I haven't seen most of those matches, but I am actually surprised that they have managed as many shots on goal as they have. Before I started counting I expected 1 pr. match average at most.
-
5 games in a row without a goal now? 7 shots on goal in those 5 games. One of these games went 120 minutes.

Put a bet on Villa to win 3-0. Fully expect us to conceede 3 goals, but get a jammy consolation goal despite playing absolutely awful the entire game, giving Bruce an opportunity to play the "the lads responded well during half time"-card or something like that in order to deflect any potential criticism from the media while denying me my rightful winnings.

Solid back-up player, probably on low wages. If there was a possibility to upgrade CBs I'd rather upgrade on one of the 4 ahead of him as they would not likely be happy sitting out matches like he seemingly is.

Feel like I've seen the same tweet every week for almost two seasons now.

Bruno Fernandez in a Newcastle shirt playing under Rafa Benitez Wonder if putting up some money instead of only chasing the free transfer option would have solved it.

I maybe talking out of my arse here as I haven't checked, but I seem to remember him having a ridiculous pass completion percentage, at least in his first two seasons. Granted it was mostly short simple passes, but he was so good at breaking play up and releasing the ball early to a player forward of him compared to a diagonal/backwards pass specialist like Colback.

Quite funny how much stick Tiote got following his barnstorming first season. He did start believing the playmaker hype, which he never was, but you could never say you weren't sure if he was on the pitch like Mr Invisible Hendrick. The "Essien" role was given to him by Pardew (I think he even spoke to the media about it, using Essien specifically as an example of what he saw in Tiote). While I don't think Tiote minded the freedom of playing further ahead and more creatively, it is Pardew that gave him that opportunity and tried to incorporate it into the tactics. If Pardew had told him to stay further behind, keep it simple, break up play, distribute ball quickly, basically the job he had his first two seasons, I've no doubt he would have stuck with it and done well.
