  1. I mean, most likely it's a goal anyway whether Pope rushes out or stays put, but we'd have a hell of a bigger chance of keeping West Ham out if he doesn't mistime that ball and just stays between the posts.
  2. West Ham played Freiburg on thursday. Zouma, Emerson, Soucek & Antonio only players that didn't start although Soucek & Emerson came in at 71st minute. We should be pretty even fatigue wise.
  3. Isn't that just his shin pad sticking out?

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Think so too. At the moment I don't see anywhere else on the pitch that would improve us (unless we buy someone experienced but younger than Burn which would stifle the progression of Hall that we just spent 30m or so on) more than a keeper of similar goalkeeping quality to Pope, but with the capability of receiving and passing the ball fairly quickly and accurately with his feet....unless we're prepared to jump into the £70-100m market of players.
  6. Looks like a British 7 is a French 6. However 2 for Muani & Mbappe, and a 3 for Hakimi seems overly harsh
  7. That is fucking funny as hell to read now that we're mint
  8. Same as Lascelles he was apologetic on behalf of Ashley if i remember correct? Was not aware there were people who still had some resentment towards him, and assumed most people had let bygone be bygone. He's clearly an important figure with both playing and coaching team.
  9. On another positive note thought him and Tonali had quite a few good interactions and one touch passing to get around the PSG press.
  10. Should only wave the white flags to mock the baguettes
  11. Some tech savy people on here care to edit a photo of Dan Burn in full leap with a superman suit on while eye lazering the ball into the net?
  12. If I read the stats that popped up briefly on my screen, our players on average have ran 0.8km longer than the average of PSG.
  13. If he was going after drunk drivers I'd sympathize a lot more.
  14. GBNews-tastic You'd think he would have a small idea of how to get through to young players with discipline issues. If he looks back at himself at 24 and thinks "if my manager publicly threw me under the bus when I did such and such, that would totally have turned me around" he's even dumber than I thought.

    Kieran Trippier

It was a list I made very quickly without too much thought behind it. I may have pushed Solano a bit too far down as I can't remember having much negative to say about his performances, but didn't want to put him too high either just because it's Nobby fucking Solano who deserves to be top of most lists regardless of what they are about. As you said, his competition for that spot wasn't shit hot either.

    Kieran Trippier

He played his best game ever for us the day he lost his brother to tuberculosis, against Liverpool no less. Had he played like that every game for us he'd have been considered one of the best left backs ever in the league. How is that out of order? Hughes was a center back playing as a make shift right back for us. His best form came when he moved to Fulham and got to play in his natural position. For us he played in a better team, but no way was he better individually as a right back than those three.

    Kieran Trippier

If Babayaro had a brother to lose before every game he played, he'd have been the best left back in PL history. In my time following Newcastle, I'd rate our right backs (and frequent stand-ins that I can remember) something like this, without giving it very much thought admittedly: 1. Trippier. Not even close. 2. Beye 3. Debuchy 4. Barton 5. Watson 6. Janmaat 7. Manquillo 8. Krafth 9. Hughes 10. Carr 11. Solano 12. Griffin 13. Edgar 14. Ramage

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Hypothetical scenario as it is, and I don't want to sell either of them, but it's incredible to think that if we sold them to Real Madrid in January, the owners would nearly get back what they paid for the entire club 2 years ago
  19. Fair enough. I could have sworn he scored towards the end of the season as well. He did score regularly all season up until his injury at least (or, regular for a winger who isn't prime Salah) and luckily seems to be continuing the trend into this season. Either way, main point of my post was just to say this Almiron is more true to himself and why Rafa splashed the money on him than the shell we saw play for Bruce, like so many others.
  20. Nothing wrong with his shooting or end product....until Bruce. After Bruce it's magically back.
  21. Simply not true. He scored throughout the season and think he was our top scorer in pre-season. He scored regularly in the MLS before he came here with quite a few shots similar to the one yesterday and showed good signs under Rafa. It's really only the Bruce era.
