You are letting us down man, it's terrible. What the hell happened to Lukaku, remember 2 years ago him tearing us apart, looked a world beater now looks like Shola.
-
They seem very big and strong at the back. Dunno how they've struggled so bad all season if they defend like this, put that much pressure on us and we wouldn't last a minute. They might be lucky but they are set up to defend situations like this, it's ideal for them. Thik they may even get something at chelsea and/or Arsenal.
-
Got to hand it to the owner of Sunderland, clearly Poyet was not going to keep them up, so what does he do he sacks him and bring in an experienced head till the end of the season. Hmmm if only we thought like that.
-
wow we are fucked
-
Everton are never going to score here. Best we can hope for is a 0-0.

The defence is an absolute mess whichever division we are playing in. Last time we went down, I don't think we bought a single play in the summer, we did invest in January on Willo and Routledge, but this time we have to do something in the summer, the squad being left behind is simply not good enough even for that division. Willo has surely played his last game for us, I would be shocked if Colo is back for the final year of his contract, yu can't rely on Saylor for a whole season, so that leaves Laschelles and Dummet as the only senior players they have at CB. Assuming there is not a change in their apparent lack of trust in Satka and Streete. Janmaat isn't playing in the championship, so we need at least one RB probably two. Haidara is made of paper too, so relying on him for a full season is a bit risky, Dummet has other commitments at CB, so we need another LB too. No one is going to buy Colback or Anita. Abeid, and Tiote will be sold, so we are light in CM, I expect the idiots to give Raylor an extension, and possibly Jonas too, if so there won't be another CM coming in. Vuckic adds a wild card to their plans, surely they will keep him at this level considering what he did at Rangers, Kemen too seems to be coming along, we also have Bigi too although he may have talked himself out of a future with the club. We are fortunate in many ways that Aarons has missed so much of the season, no one will buy him now, so he stays. The Championship means another contract for Sammy, with Gouffran and Jonas, they'll not look to strengthen LW at all. We've also got Marveaux coming back too Obertan could shine in that league, that'll be Carver's thinking for sure, and no one would buy him anyways. Since we are stacked at LW, doubt they will see a need for another RW. Maybe if they get offered a loan player, that's best we can hope for here. Up front, Cisse and Perez are as good as gone, Rivierre and Armstrong backed up by Roberts, could be the extent of our strike force. That would be folly in the extremely, we need at least another one. I expect they'll bring in a freebie "past his prime" or a loan from the PL. Going down is really shit guys, those thinking it will be fun like last time will be sadly disappointed, enjoy Raylor, Sammy and Obertan. Possibly even Willo getting a reprieve !!

I voted yes, it's too damn good a question to give an honest answer to.

Mr Ashley is probably think, fantastic, when Chelsea and Man City read this they are bound to pay me millions in compensation to appoint the "best coach in the PL" ©
-
That has to be out of context. Surely to god?! The BBC are now running with it. LOL the guy is embarrassing himself. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32627362

Thinks he's the best coach in the PL, hehe. WTF man, there's stupid and there's John Carver. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-live-latest-news-9200279

Has this been posted, it's an excellent piece in the chronicle, not sure if I would ever say those words together http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-fans-not-heeding-calls-9200342

I've stated in other threads why I want us to stay up. The fact that we are even discussing this and as I look at the current results there are around 30% who want us to drop, is a sad sad state of affairs. If your own supporters don't want you to succeed something is clearly wrong. Don't have any problem with anyone voting yes, I completely get it, but I do hope that those in the stadium on Saturday, get behind the team and create a hostile atmosphere from Brom.
-
They should have learned their lesson from last time. It should be a no brainer for any contract negotiation that we do. First it protects us financially if we go down and secondly adds more motivation to the player to stay up.

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11678/9838699/former-newcastle-star-warns-fans-to-be-careful-what-you-wish-for Dang those comments from fans of other clubs who obviously know our situation way better than we do.

Not wanting to stick up for them with this latest hamfisted attempt at PR. But I've been tossing this around in my mind, should we be getting behind the team (a team that's done nothing to reciprocate the gesture and anything to warrant any level of support) in the hope of saving our PL status or let the fuckers wallow in the shit they've caused, continue the protest and hope that this inevitable relegation is the catalyst for change. I’ve come to the conclusion that we need to stay up. Not for Ashley, Carver or the fleckless players but for ourselves. Going down means the following: The best players will be sold, the worst players are given a lifeline. Carver’s odds at staying in charge go up, with the Hughton effect, Ryder is promoting. Zero investment in the team will take place (Despite what we think, if we stay in the PL they will spend probably not enough but they will spend). No attractive managerial appointment will be made(although this is probable for both scenarios). No chance of me personally seeing a lot of our games next year (although that may be a blessing in disguise). No likely buyer will offer Ashley what he wants for the club. We could be down for a long time this time, as long as perhaps Leeds have been, we are not set up for a quick bounce back like last time. Of course I can also understand the advantages in continuing the protests for this game: Why back a team that doesn’t deserve, why save an owner 80 million that won’t reinvest it. Carver might be seen as the hero for saving us, ergo getting the gig next year. The worst case scenario and what will probably happen is that people will sit on their hands for 89 mins apart from in the 17th minute per usual. The place will be like a library apart from the vocal noise of the small band of Brom supporters celebrating their 3 goals. The 34th minute will see a handful of supporters stand up with their red Ashley out cards (which will be promptly confiscated).

7m for Perez?! No chance we'll get that. Personally I think he'll be one of the few that will remain if when we go down, and he will tear up the Championship. We got 8million for bloody Sebastian Bassong, 6 years ago !! How much did Southampton pay for Shane Caraptastic Long this summer. Perez has some buzz about him and we are under no pressure to sell. 7 million is about his value but even if we only got 5 million, the sales of the likes of Cabella and Dejong could easily compensate for that.

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/steve-mcclaren-still-man-newcastle-9181842 Fucking hate Don Hutchinson, what gives him the right to comment on NUFC ?

We didn't have one the last time, surprisingly enough, would have thought it would be a great place to plaster SportsDirect.com if nothing else.

I question his logic to be honest. IF he was offered the gig, then not taking it doesn't help him redeem himself in the eyes of the public. He's got a no lose situation, 3 games (which on paper are pretty comfortable), win one and you stay in the PL. You then have a PL job, much greater exposure than at a derby side who just missed the playoffs. Lose all three and go down, clearly not his fault, the damage was done under charver. Will be the manager of the biggest club in the championship with the biggest budget, more likely to go back up and a chance to be a hero again. Now he gets to stay at the back water of derby, will be accused of lacking the bottle to take on a fight. Derby's failure to make the playoffs from a position where they were fighting for the title. Fans are turning on him for the failure, if he gets off to a slow start next year, he's out of work again. For a manager who has been a consistent failure (outside of one season in Holland and a couple of cup runs 10 years ago with boro) that will probably be the last decent sized job he will get. Not that I wanted him to come here and should we survive, it will be a huge relief that he's effectively ruled himself out of contention. But not sure if he has thought this through from a personal level. I'm sure I will get lots of "He's right to turn it down due to Ashley etc.." but I'm looking at this from the chance for him to regain some reputation.

The problem we've had over the years is that outside the brief period of SJH chairmanship (and he just might have gotten lucky there with appointing KK). We've been poorly run by people incapable of running a football club. Poor decisions off the field have led to poor performances on it. Turning points in recent times for me, were KK resigning (first time), Shephard and Hall jr taking charge, Dalglish appointment (though it made sense at the time, Arsenal had chosen to go with Wenger), Souness appointment of course. Ashley taking over, him not selling to the who soon would be Man City's owners (apparently). January 2015 (lack of investment in playing, lack of appointment in manger). Oh for a time machine and some power to influence those decisions.
-
It changes big time now we are destined to be a championship club again. I hope the club do not go along with Ryder's thinking that appointing Carver could be the same as Hughton (struggled in the PL but became a hero in the Championship). But I won't hold my breath, as it's just the type of logic they would follow. Warburton would be the obvious choice if he's leaving Brentford, failing him I don't know who they will turn too, the exciting foreign managers won't come to a Championship team, so we are left with either Up and coming British based managers, Past their sell by date guys like Redknapp, Curbs et al or the simply not good enough crowd lie Carver. Best hope we have of not starting 2015/16 with Carver in charge is if some miracle happens and we stay in the PL. But even then the twisted logic of our ownership will heap praise on Carver for saving us and reward him with a long contract extension.
-
How do you pick a team for this game. The options for defence are shocking. One thing we know Carver refuses to play any kids, because we need experience in situations like this (because that worked great the last 8 games). I think he will go: Krul Anita Raylor Colo Jonas Cabella Colback Sissoko Gouffran DeJong Perez The defence is going to get murdered, we aren't going to be able to defend any set pieces our only hope is that Cablla and Sissoko have one of their good games and Perez and Dejong take every chance that falls to them.
-
I'm not sure how we even start to build for life in the championship. We have 34 million in the bank, we'll sell a bunch when we go down, Sissoko (10 Million), Perez (7 Million), Krul (7 Million), Janmatt (7 Million), Tiote (3 Million), others (Combined 2 Million). That's around 70 Million !! Last time we needed a "loan" of 25 million from Ashley to survive. Allow for inflation and lower crowds and higher costs, that may push up to 40 million. That will still leave us with 30 million to spend on building a Championship team, that should be plenty, but have they even scouted that kind of player ?
-
Poll should just have one option now. 10.
-
We're officially down then, what the hell makes them think this man will get a win over the last 3 games. They must be banking on other teams not getting to 35 points which right now is extremely unlikely
