AFC Bournemouth 1-1 Newcastle United (25/08/24)

Unless we bring in some quality over the next week, my prediction of 7th this season is looking a tad optimistic -

This is atrocious and deeply concerning. Half the team either don't appear fit or can't pass, and Gordon looks like he wants to be at another club. -

Wish we had an Isak supplying Isak up front. -

Gordon not looking great again. Would like to see Barnes out there. Desperate for Tonali as well. -
Club certainly coming in for some flak this weekend. Sunday Times today questioning the soul of the club and that Tripper at least provided some of that for a sportswashing project, yes has been 'treated abysmally'. https://www.thetimes.com/sport/football/article/why-is-kieran-trippier-being-exiled-at-newcastle-ztb7z8d62

Don't think this will go down well... https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/aug/24/newcastles-saudi-future-may-not-be-what-many-imagined-as-pressure-hits

Brighton apart, table is start to look a bit predictable already. Not sure who I want to win tonight. I really like Emery - excellent manager who acts with great dignity, but suppose Villa are our most likely rival for a European spot. But then Arteta and the Arse fans are absolute whoppers.

Those T&Cs seem pretty standard to me. I don't work in retail and any of the supposed shitty job types, but would love 25 days holiday and paid OT!

The Mag only just realised? https://www.themag.co.uk/2024/08/this-is-shameful-seeding-introduced-for-usual-suspects-in-carabao-cup-by-subterfuge-newcastle-united/ It is fucking scandalous though. What are more often than not the cartel clubs already get a bye into the next round. This seems nothing more than an effort to ensure the big brand clubs don't knock each other out too soon. Meanwhile our odds of drawing City, Arse or Pool if we beat Forrest has increased substantially.

A draw would be a good result here, but think we could be for quite a shock with losing by a couple of goals. -
Guess they're just hesitant to admit both the ref and VAR made a very poor call.

I've seen fucking continents "edging closer" quicker that this bullshit.

Hope his house doesn't close in on him like a goldfish bowel when he's got nowt to do.

Sven Botman: could return vs Ipswich (Tindall)
Turnbull2000 replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Think he was out September till December last year, then March till potentially December this year. -
Looking increasingly likely we're gonna need BDB and Murphy to take things up a few notches this season if we're to have a hope of getting near top 4.
-
Weren't one of the cartel owner quoted anonymously as saying 'we can't allow a repeat of a Leicester' (winning the league/taking a CL spot)? Suppose what better example to set than seeing their team asset stripped, relegated, then deducted points and likely relegate them again for the crime of trying to improve. Will be thumbs up from the owners of Arse, Pool and Man U.

That's what already established top teams do. You know yourself that's no longer an option for potential challengers. You can't blow £70m and move on. We'd likely have to consider selling an Isak/Bruno/Gordon in 12 months time to compensate or face a points deduction.

Yankuba Minteh (now playing for Brighton & Hove Albion)
Turnbull2000 replied to 54's topic in Football
Can we please lock this thread so I don't have to be reminded every day that we've sold a potentially brilliant player who'd have solved our right sided weakness and more on the cheap. Howe must be incredibly frustrated if as reported he viewed Minteh as a likely starter this season. This boy could be young player of the season. -

PSR has done a proper job on us here. We should have real squad depth by now with a lethal right wing to match our left. Fucking sickener. -

Play like today and they'll do us over. -
The Times today running quite a long piece today on Howe having a weak squad than 12 months ago, being favourite for the sack, and has lost his allies in the club. The press have been full of fucking pessimism when looking ahead to our season. That our available team today was worse than 12 months ago is pretty bleak mind.

5 minutes extra time.

Please no more than 5 minutes of extra time. Can't handle any more. Watch it be fucking 9 minutes or something
