  1. He'd be a useful squad addition for the domestic cups and as a substitute to rest Isak, surely?
  2. Well, Chelsea were allowed to sell the women's team on future project value, not current value. So we just need a spreadsheet projecting the stack and the land it sits on will be worth £100m in a decade.
  3. Selling the stack but keeping the income is how you do. After all, Chelsea 'sold' their hotel and still keep all the profits they generates.
  4. Ah sorry, didn't quite read your post clearly!
  5. I think 4-7th was always within regular reach with owners who cared. But regularly challenging for the PL a stones throw away? We're at least £100m short on income and £50m short on player salaries for that.

    João Pedro

Probably an extra £50,000 salary per week at least, plus London living. Also a free hit for Chelsea with £50m+ from the Club World Cup (never mind £300m from selling their own assets to themselves). The fuckers can probably afford to do this just to spite us. Can't compete with that. Move on.
  7. Fuck me Chelsea's shenanigans are making me angry. And if Villa are selling their women's team to keep them going next season, it's going to be exceptionally hard to get top 5 again. Unless PIF attempt to blow up these protectionist rules, I don't see how we can ever get genuinely level with the beakaway cartel.
  8. Even if we bring in 3 decent signings, our squad is still too shallow to handle what's coming next season. We need to keep Willock and Longstaff as 3rd choices and for early round domestic cups. Otherwise it only takes 4-5 injuries and we're back to a bench of keepers and kids.
  9. Need convincing he can get through half a season without his knee's falling to bits first.
  10. A new ground in 2030 may help, but we'd pretty much end up in the Villa situation if we wanted a squad capable of domestic and Europe competition every season, would we not?
  11. Probably because no significant fines or punishments are handed out. If Villa sell their women's team, we're pretty much in a club of one in which you're desperate to challenge the cartel clubs, but also play by the rules and not exploit loopholes. The rest are largely businessmen owned, and increasingly American businessmen, who are happy to capture any value gains by just being. That the Americans may soon have the premier league voting majority makes me shudder.
  12. Chelsea would probably package the £10m into a bond and then sell it to a sister company at 0.1% interest.
  13. God it hurts seeing how good he's becoming. Not convinced Miley is going to reach the level we need, so we're facing a massive deficit in quality with only a couple of injuries.
  14. Move on. We can't afford to pay over the odds. Also resent gifting Forest again after the Anderson farce.
  15. I did chuckle when the fixtures came out, and a not insignificant number on RTG believed the majority of the first dozen opponents don't really amount to much. Basically it's just your Villa's, Arse's, Chelsea's that will trouble them
  16. Hard to get excited if it does happen. Would he really be a big upgrade on Pope? £30m+ also a fuckload of money against PSR when it'll do nowt to help ease the burden on our very limited squad.
  17. Anyone seen this alleged dangerous tackle on Tino?
  18. Anderson's on for big things like. Could see him at City in a year or two.
  19. I've already said we need to essentially drop the domestic cups. We've broke the trophy drought. Top 5 is now more important, and we'll certainly not achieve that if our purples have to cope with the League and FA Cup as well.
  20. https://www.statista.com/statistics/566666/premier-league-clubs-by-revenue/ 23/24 Season was Breakaway 6 miles ahead, then... Newcastle 320 Villa 272 West Ham 271 Then bit of a gap again to the rest.
  21. How are our closer equivalent clubs doing, such as your Villa's and West Ham's? All the noticeable signing seems to have been by the breakaway clubs with the big money and brand lure. We don't have big money, and whilst our lure is surely much greater than those two clubs, it's probably not great enough to have quality players pushing for a move if we enquire.
  22. Saying as we're going to miss out on everyone, and our rivals will blow us out the wonder, I think we should look to bring back Jeff Hendrick on pay-as-you-play basis to improve squad depth
  23. The Stack extension being reported in the Chronicle now, and was hoping the Stadium Truth would have Emerged and Spoke Volumes about the Plans that will Surprise You. But alas nothing
  24. That will put him on par with the global phenomenon Harry Maguire or probably a full back in the Chelsea B team If money matters, there's nowt we can really do if one of the red tops, Chelsea and City target out players.
