If it's true that the club asked Liverpool to confiscate banners then they must be aware that Pardew is hated by a good proportion of the fans. People who were asking for a wave a few months ago now want to see him hanging from the rafters. Giving the lunatic any money to spend isn't going to appease enough supporters & he's going to be starting next season getting booed by his team's supporters. Not sacking him is simply antagonising already pissed off fans even further. It's not going to end well.

If true, fuck this club.

I'd swap what we currently are now for anything. Cannot agree that we basically did what City are doing now though, it's not even close. On a reduced scale it is. We broke the transfer record FFS. All funded by our owner. What's different about it? Man City have spent hundreds of millions of pounds and, along with a few other clubs, are responsible for UEFA actually bringing in rules to try and prevent what they're doing. They can pretty much buy who they want, it's not even close, man. As could we back then. Obvs with inflation the fees have gone up. We didn't earn our money so to speak, we spent our owners and outspent the other teams. Same thing as they are doing just on a diff scale. Was their anyone we couldn't buy? We broke the transfer record to get the best striker in Europe at the time. We didn't spend our owner's money at all, SJH acted as the backer to loans that were paid off by the floatation. Other than purchasing the club I don't believe that the Hall family put more than £1.5million into the club's funds (even that money came from Lady Hall IIRC). You seem to have confused us with Blackburn.

Fucking shite commentary For the first time we've heard from Newcastle's fans. Fairly sure I've heard Ben Arfa's name being sung and some fat cockney songs & I doubt they've been coming from the Kop.

Might not be a money issue, might be down to the 25-man squad rules for the Premiership. Players like Sammy Ameobi & Paul Dummet wouldn't have had to be registered this season due to their age but next season they'll have to be fully registered members of the squad. Same goes for some of the players out on loan, without getting rid of some of the fringe players we'd have more than 25 "senior" players to register.

Alternatively, he was doing well whilst Kinnear was here & it all fell to shit once he left. Or, just perhaps, he's a poor manager who can sometimes do well when there are others around to cover for his inadequacies.

Speak for yourself. Time to find another forum. With a modicum of balance. I wish you knew what went on behind the scenes. If it's that bad, why doesn't he walk? Seriously? "Pardew talked about “taking stock” of things at the end of the season, but denied he would resign. Managers do not walk away from severance packages. " http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/10808018/Newcastle-United-manager-Alan-Pardew-feels-full-fury-of-fans-despite-victory-which-condemns-Cardiff-to-relegation.html Who was the last Premier League manager to resign on principle? Or, for that matter, resigned because of their own poor performance? What about the last Championship manager, or Liga, or Serie A manager who "did the right thing" and resigned? I'm not for saying for one minute that Pardew shouldn't resign (I'd prefer he commit seppuka in the centre circle), but it simply doesn't happen anymore. If you can find a realistic comparison case I will plead mea culpa, but I genuinely can't think of an actual resignation in the recent past that wasn't "going somewhere better" or a "mutual agreement" that was actually a sacking. There's one example from a few years ago that actually involves NUFC. A manager who realised that he'd lose the dressing room & the fans backing and decided that his position was untenable. As much as I disliked the football & results under him, I admire him for leaving on his own accord rather than hanging around like a dead albatross waiting for a payoff. http://www.soccerbyives.net/images/2008-small/08/03/ruud_gullit_isiphotoscom_2.jpg Whilst not a Premiership club, Gordon Strachan left his Middlesbrough job for similar reasons not that long ago. Any manager with an ounce of professional pride would have walked months ago.

disagree, from ashleys pov he's completed the "perfect" season, top 10 (barring some kind of freakish results for palace) with very minimum levels of cash spent (2 loan fees) and the best player flogged for a nice profit mid season. Why would he get rid of him right now? What incentive is there for Ashley as someone who really doesn't give 2 shits for the club beyond the bottom line to fork out a large enough payoff to pardew and try and get a new guy who will match the same criteria as Pardew already does? Not sure I agree there. If part of Ashley's "plan" includes buying cheap foreign players & flogging them on for a profit then Pardew is failing massively. How many of the players bought in the last couple of season might make us a profit? He's not even trying to develop young talent, preferring to give time to players whose contracts are expiring. Ashley needs the club generating its own funds through transfers so he doesn't need to use his own cash, that's not going to happen if we start selling players at a loss.

They desperately need to win the game. We've given up professional football.
-
The media gave up shaping public opinion ages ago, now they just report what people already agree with. If they're turning against Pardew it's because they believe that the majority of their readers already share that opinion. Which is nice.

I used to joke that we could replace players like Butt & Smith with traffic cones. Gosling is that traffic cone. He simply offers nothing to the team, the only thing of note he's done this season is create a goal by tripping over his own fucking feet. He's being played ahead of an infinitely superior footballer and he's being played ahead of younger players who might have a future at the club. Even if the club had decided that once we were safe that there was nothing to play for surely it would have been better to try youngsters like Bigirimana, Miele & Kemen? Hell, playing Obertan would be a better option since it might attract other halfwitted managers to throw us a few pennies for him. His contract is up at the end of the season & it isn't being renewed, by all rights he should have been fucked off to some League One side on loan in January like Alan Smith was.

WE WANT 4 WE WANT 4 WE WANT 4 WE WANT 4 WE WANT 4 WE WANT 4 WE WANT 4
-
Surprised it's taken so long. Time to collapse please, some of us have money on us losing by 4+ goals.
-
At this point I'd be thrilled with the appointment of a potato if it meant getting rid of Pardew
-
Dan Gosling seems to be the personification of the team at the moment. A lot of huff & puff and when something does work it seems to be more down to luck than judgement.
-
Shola has made a career out of giving away possession yet still gets picked. Gouffran looks like he's been wearing clown shoes for the last dozen games or so yet still gets picked. Gosling gives away stupid free kicks and surrenders possession with each of them yet bizarrely manages to get picked. Alan Smith was the worst passer of the ball I have ever seen in a Newcastle shirt, the simplest of passes would go straight to the opposition yet if his contract hadn't expired I'm sure he'd be getting picked by the fuckwit too. The argument that he gives away possession is laughable bullshit. The best players lose possession all the time as they try the hard things that lesser players can't even conceive of doing. He doesn't tackle back, it's not really part of his game. So fuck. That's what defenders are for. Ben Arfa is a creative, attacking player whose only job should be to attack the opposition and create opportunities.

I'm waiting for the inevitable next week
-
Maybe he should be more professional than to get drunk and spout off about his team mates to random strangers then.
-
Horrific football match. Stoke were shite, we were beyond abysmal.
-
That line-up is simply horrific, the man has no fucking clue what he is doing
-
How's that different from most of our games? Even most of our wins have come about from individual flashes of brilliance rather than a cohesive game plan.
-
I don't know what you're on about, Pardew hates defensive football, it's all front foot attacking play. Do you not read his quotes? tisk
