    RIP sale thread.

Er, probably isn't going to them begging for money. But can you explain the previous mutterings from Seymour pierce about about proving you had the funds etc Well seeing as how half the first team squad has disappeared since he started did you stop to think how he could afford all the new signings he would need which he wouldnt have accounted for? You have the wrong end of the stick dear boy how has selling players got anything to do with buying the club ,selling the players would make the club a better proposition to buy with the high earners off an money from transfers paying off the overdraft and outgoings in wages dropping which has got nothing to do with proving you had the finances to buy the club ,so how can Seymour Pierce recommend Moat if thats the case. The other end of the stick is that Moat has barely got the cash to buy the club, let alone buy the players needed to replace the ones who've gone and give us a cat in hell's chance of promotion - and the potential for promotion is the only thing which makes Newcastle a viable proposition. Source? Probably an assumption and a fair one at that tbh he doesnt sound like he is rolling in it . On his own Moat doesn't have anywhere near the asking price for the club. It all depends on how much cash Ashley wants up front and how much Moat has been able to raise from other sources like the consortium he's supposed to be heading.

I have more than one reason to believe this story tbh. Hope and desperation?

    Mark Viduka

Has he checked the physio room? Probably the best place to start looking for him.
  4. Decent signing by all accounts, similar to Guthrie he's never going to break into the first team where he is so he needs to leave. He's spent the last 3-4 seasons out on loan so he's hardly inexperienced, he could do very well for us.
  5. Bite their hands off for it £4m for Duff who was largely ineffective for most of last season and is earning £60k per week. Whilst he did score on Saturday he was largely invisible for most of the game.

Consortium of current & former players headed by Alan Shearer to buy the club, Geremi set to sit on the board of directors instead of sitting on the sub's bench.
  7. Hang on, you're comparing O'Leary's playing record to Mourinho's management record & concluding that O'Leary is the better manager because he accomplished more as a player? Based on that line of lunacy David Beckham is a better manager than Alex Ferguson and Brian Clough. Drugs are bad m'kay.
  8. You do realise that means he'll be in charge until 2013 don't you?

    U23s & Academy

Aye, because he'll develop as a player by sitting in the reserves until he's 23. These players need some first team experience, ideally we'd be loaning them out to Hartlepool or Darlo for the season but we're down to our last two central defenders with first team experience so Kadar & co. are required here in case of emergency.
  10. If it goes ahead he'll, rightly, be seen as nothing more than Ashley's toady, a man willing to do anything because there's no one else willing to give him a job. Whilst any manager is probably better than no manager, I'd put O'Dreary down on the same level as Skirge's dog on the list of potential managers.

I doubt a blind monkey could do much worse than Ashley has. Whatever happens if Moat takes over I'm sure no-one will look back and think "I wish we still had Mike Ashley." I doubt a blind monkey could do much worse than Shepherd has. Whatever happens if Ashley takes over I'm sure no-one will look back and think "I wish we still had Freddy Shepherd." Rings a bell....
  12. Shows how far we have sunk frankly when we're looking at Roeder as being our best manager (bar Keegan's brief stint) since Robson. He did manage to get a few very decent results with very poor resources, the results at home against the Sky 4 alone were impressive. Had he stayed on and been in charge when Ashley took over I feel that a lot of things would have gone quite differently, he did at least understand the fans a hell of a lot better than Fat Sam did so I doubt he'd have built a team of hard working players with zero flair, nor would he have surrendered any chance to beat teams away from home in favour of a hard fought draw like Fat Sam. I don't think I'd want him back but virtually any manager > no manager
  13. Worth a shot for the right price..... Worth a loan offer if nothing else. He's very experienced at the Championship level and couldn't be any worse than Bambi

    Jonas Gutierrez

There were a number of times in the first half today where Jonas won the ball, beat the fullback looked up to pass only to find no one to pass to. Strikers found themselves marked in the box and our midfielders were nowhere to be seen. It was only in the second half when Nolan, Smith and Duff started to get make runs into the box, unfortunately by then Jonas had stopped trying. Get him in a team with some decent midfielders and you'll see an entirely different player.
  15. I'd bet it involved bacon butties
  16. Fucking disgusting. Senior players at the club with 10 years+ playing professional football, players with dozens of international caps, players who have played at the highest levels for club and country and they couldn't be arsed. I have nothing but contempt for them, I hope they lose all their career earnings to dodgy agents since cash is the only thing they appear to understand.

    Geremi

Biggest part he should play this season is leaving the club and reducing the wage bill. £60k per week for a player who only gets within 10 yards of a ball when he's asked to take a free kick is disgusting.
  18. Considering the wages that Hull are reported to be paying to Jimmy Bullard (apparently he's on £45k per week), I guess that Beye sees them as his last big pay day. 31 (nearly 32) years old, if he gets a 4 year contract on £40k+ per week then he can look forward to a relaxed retirement. Villa are the far better option as a football club but I doubt they'll be offering the wages that Hull will be.

    Replacements?

We could do with cover for both fullback positions, at least on central midfielder for when Barton has another incident/injury, a couple of wingers who don't just stand around waiting for the ball so we can rid ourselves of Duff and at least one striker with a bit of pace. An experienced central defender, or two, would be useful too, more so if Coloccini leaves.

I,for one, would love to see John Carver back. Listening to some of the bits he's said I'd be worried if I was one of the lazy fuckers infesting the current first team.

Venables won't come, but he's a far more qualified coach than the likes of O'Leary, Strachan, Coppell and other such losers mentioned so far. What did Venabls won? Nothing Starchen achivement at Celtic is better than Martin O'Neil and same moron people here were saying the same about MON few years back when I scream his appointment instead of Roeder. Learn about football ppls. venables won la liga with barca, and an fa cup with spurs, albeit a while ago. Which century and I just want to know which manager fail to win at Baraca plus thats two decade ego. Strachen won lots of titiles in the past 4 years and if any of you guys care to watch his sides play with commitment and passion all the times. Venables actually moulded clubs like QPR and was a relatively successful England coach, he's well respected by people in the game. Strachan is a little shit who can win a two horse race in Scotland like Graeme Souness other than that I'm not sure he's done much. Strachan has actually done nowt of any note when managing an English club in an obviously far more competitive league than the scotch one. Kept Southampton clear of relegation during his time there and got them to an FA cup final. Not sure I'd want him here but he's a better option than O'Dreary, Kinnear or any of the other managers who haven't stepped outside a TV studio in years.
  22. It would have to be someone who doesn't currently have a job so no compensation would need paying, someone who would work under Ashley and his wacky decision making, someone willing to accept the job in the knowledge that they'd probably be sacked the moment someone is willing to buy the club and someone who was managing a club in the mid-90's since that's the only period that Ashley appears to have any knowledge about. El-Tel or O'Dreary probably.

Really just says that it isn't DIC, but then no one ever named DIC as the bidders, people just guessed that it was DIC based on their prior interests in buying Liverpool.
  24. They do know that you can only field 11 players at a time don't they?
  25. He tried pulling his finger out a couple of weeks ago, but he missed and injured his thumb instead
