If the money goes into Ashley's personal accounts then the fee would come off the club's asking price, if the cash stays within the club's accounts then the price would remain the same.
-
There are one or two of them who would end up owning the club money each week if that happened
-
Not really, I'd be too worried that he was reaching behind me to steal my wallet
-
McMahon is a fucking liar but he's done his job at raising the profile of his company and the media here has played along nicely.
-
More breaking news. The Profitable Group probably never had the money for a bid and only used the club's sale in a cynical attempt to increase their own profile.

I've been told that Keith Harris is on holiday because Seymour Pierce are in the process of cutting all ties with Ashley. They're f***ed off he wont accept a realistic offer for the club and they believe it's impacting on their reputation quite badly. Why would they care, they get paid regardless. No, they'll get a small basic + % of the sale price. If Seymour Pierce are going to earn a % of the sale would it not be in their best interests to tell Ashley not to accept a lower bid and to hang on for a higher price?

I was looking forward to the season a few weeks ago. New owner, a new manager, a few new players, getting rid of the dross who meekly surrendered our Premiership place. It was going to be a great new season, we'd be challenging for promotion, we'd be trying to win games, hell we may even manage to win games. But the sale just drags on and on and on and on. I know that a team can start poorly and still be promoted come the end of the season but the idea of going into the new season with the bastards who simply couldn't give a shit about the club as long as they're getting paid just fills me with dread for the season. Most of our players have all the determination of a dead seagull and will continue to just get by in games safe in the knowledge that they're earning a fortune anyway and there's still a chance that some gullible fuckwit will buy them to do a job in the Premiership.
-
Absolutely disgusting decision. If it had been anyone else other than an established England "star" they'd have been found guilty.
-
Yes. Does he represent any of the players? Hes not in that line of business is he? Profitable group expecting answer by tomorrow as well according to McMahons comments I'm not entirely convinced that The Profitable Group have even made a bid. They've had some superb publicity on the back of the club's sale, publicly pulling out of the sale just gives them more publicity, even if they didn't make a bid in the first place.

They always remind me of a teenage lad trying to chat up a good looking girl. Lad (sounding desperate): Fancy going out? Lass: Fuck off you ugly shit Lad (to his mates): Never really fancied her anyway

What would Alan Shearer want to bounce off Joe Kinnear? Darts most probably.

They'll start really well, but that won't last. They have far too many players with planet-sized egos who will not take kindly to a spell on the bench, if they were in the Champion's League then a few of the players might be more patient but a run out in the reserves or in the League Cup won't suffice. Hughes doesn't have the knowledge or respect to deal with the players in that situation. I'd be surprised if Hughes is still in charge after Christmas.
-
I don't believe for a minute that Hughes is the only one buying players at City, Tevez and Adebayor are upgrades to players they already have who are either performing fine or ones they've only very recently bought but the temptation to bring in a couple of very big names will be too great to ignore for the owners who'll just go ahead and buy them anyway and leave Hughes to shoehorn all of their big name players into the team. My guess would be: -----------------------Given----------------------- --Richards----Kompany----Terry----Bridge-- ----------DeJong----Barry----Ireland---------- --Tevez-------------------------------Robinho-- --------------------Adebayor--------------------- Leaves Bellamy, Santa Cruz and SWP as the biggest names on the bench, plus a whole load of others that won't easily get a game

wow! There's no sensory receptors in the brain so he won't be able to feel anything. It's why a lot of neurosurgery is done with the patient awake. Hope he recovers well. Plus, the surgeon needs to make sure that whatever they're poking at isn't going to cause the patient other problems, like the ability to talk, remember their own name, etc. The surgeon will go through a load of patient feedback on what they're experiencing before they go ahead and start cutting parts of the brain away.

I'd support Nolan going on a hunger strike
-
I don't think that he bought the club with any real plan on what to do with the club once he had it, hence his decision to have his friend run the club. He constantly seemed to be reacting to any previous problems rather than dealing with issues at hand: Allardyce spent the club's (and therefore Ashley's) money on mostly poor players. Answer: Bring in someone to control transfers Keegan wants more control, but Allardyce fucked up so he should trust his new system and back Wise over Keegan Keegan leaves and is replaced by someone else Ashley believes he can trust Since Keegan left because he didn't have control over transfers he should let JFK buy the players he wants JFK pisses off two of our better players and spunks his transfer kitty on Nolan and Ryan Taylor If he'd had any sort of long term plan other than balance the books and hope for the best it might have worked out, but without any sort of direction Ashley was always going to lurch from one mistake to the next.

Fuck me. That is actually incredible. And aye, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see it make one of the rags tomorrow. Don't be daft. You know fine well the papers don't use unconfirmed rumours from message boards. They wait until someone updates wikipedia.

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/88248/Toon-Army-in-mass-mutiny/ So we haven't yet sold 20,000 season tickets. How many clubs outside of the Premiership top 4 and perhaps Everton, Villa and City can claim to have even sold half that number? Shit raking scum.
-
You've conveniently ignored the additional funds he loaned the club after paying off those debts to cover our ridiculous wage bill and other outgoings. The club has been losing millions each year and wasn't close to breaking even. But don't let facts get in the way of an argument.
-
If the players revolted and all demanded transfers would that not mean that they'd lose out on loyalty bonuses, etc. that they'd be entitled to if the club put them up for sale? Wonder how much the club would stand to save by accepting transfer requests?
-
What the fuck is "more than two" bids? Three? Four? Sixty two? What a strange thing to say, even for him. More than two bids would suggest to me that we've had multiple bids from two bidders. One group may have bid £85m and the other has bid the full £100m, the first group has then raised their bid to match. Or it could just be that he's talking crap.

Owen was a passenger in the team for much of the 2nd half of last season. He offered little up front, didn't create space for other players, was completely unable to hold the ball up for other players to join the attack and when he did get chances to score he fluffed them. From January onwards we could have played with 10 men in most games and we'd have struggled to notice the difference. As club captain he should have been leading the other players with his determination to keep the club in the league, instead he shrank from the task appearing more interested in keeping himself injury free for his summer transfer culminating with his "groin strain" before the Fulham game (the one that mysteriously vanished soon after the season finished) forcing a clearly unfit Martins to play with a pain-killing injection for his own groin strain.
-
This. He's worth holding on too next season not on 85k a week he's not Where are you getting this? Some people here act as if they are on the f***ing board. Give it a rest. All reports point to him being on 60k + even more. What do you reckon he's on then? If not that high? If you believe the press they'll tell you that everyone at the club from the tea lady upwards is earning £60k per week.

Shepherd on his own simply does not have enough cash to fund the club for at least one season in the Championship. Whoever buys the club needs to set aside enough money to pay the wages of all of our current players in the event that we can't shift the high wage earners. That means that they'll need an additional £60m. How is Shepherd going to find that? Borrow against future season ticket sales & sponsorship deals? We've been down that path before with Shepherd and it wasn't pretty. If Shepherd is simply the front man for a consortium who keep him on a very tight leash it might work, but Shepherd on his own is a disaster waiting to happen.
