Newcastle United 0-0 Crystal Palace; post match frustration from p26
clintdempsey replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
We’ve been OK. Had most of the attacking incentives and have missed a couple of great chances. We’ll have more chances no doubt and we’ll bury one or two of them. Could do with Anderson on for Willock though since we’ve been rather pedestrian in midfield so far. -
Will get a brace today methinks. Fingers crossed.

Newcastle United vs. Crystal Palace - 3/9/22 @ 3:00pm (No UK TV)

A win today would be awesome and would set us up for a nice few weeks forward. I’d say we realistically should take around 10 points from the next 5 games but the one thing we know is that Eddie will have us going for 15 from the next 5. Might as well start today. 3-0 with an Isak brace and a Targett mishit cross for the last one. -
Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)
clintdempsey replied to joeyt's topic in Football
I’d say it’s probably time for him to get a start today. Has looked really interesting both against Tranmere, Wolves and Liverpool. The one area where I think Howe holds Willock higher is probably pressing. Willock hasn’t been able to get involved in an attacking sense too much but it seems that he’s integral to our defensive shape and press. I personally think that Anderson could do that as well, he seems energetic and gets around well enough. The one thing lacking is probably in a more tactical sense but that should come with experience and opportunities. -
That would be absolutely epic. EDIT: Not the Liverpool part.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-1 Newcastle United (28/08/2022)

A good point in the circumstances and we probably should've nicked a win tbh. Still think there was something a bit off with the tempo and quality of our attacking play but that’s understandable missing the players we did. It would be awesome to get a couple of players in this week (a midfielder and a winger) to lighten the burden on some of our key players. If we do we’ve got a real chance at upsetting quite a few of the supposed big boys come May and handle upcoming injuries. -

They aren’t half wasting time these. Hate shit like this. -

Don’t like this. I know we’re missing a few key players but we do seem a bit lost. No urgency and low tempo. Might as well put Anderson and Fraser on straight after the break for Willock and Wood and see what happens. It’s blatantly obvious that we could do with a few more players though. ? -
From the bits of info in regards to a midfielder it seems like Gallagher is EH's first choice and Paqueta is the back-up option. There's still hope!
-
Spanish media reports that we've had personal terms agreed for a week or two already.
-
He's had a release clause for what, £75-77m? Getting the deal done for £58-59m seems like rather good value. There is a HUGE upside to him as a player in that he's only getting better. I can see him becoming a superstar under EH tbh. Also nice AF to get another Swede in.

FFS man, I never said anything about him being a good or bad player. I know he did great for Palace first half of last season but I don’t find him endearing enough. For me he’s got the wrong kind of vibe going - much like Gordon. If we’d sign him however he’d be our c*nt and I’d back him to the hilt. Until then, good player with potential but not for me.
-
Gallagher looks like a totalt c*nt. Him and Gordon are two of the players I can’t stand. For the money we’d get Paqueta right?

Brighton & Hove Albion 0-0 Newcastle United (13/08/2022)
clintdempsey replied to BlueStar's topic in Football
In a way it’s a sign of progress. But I’m actually slightly disappointed in that performance. I know that Brighton’s an OK side, I know that it was hot as hell, I know we’re a work in progress but still. Pope had to make a couple of worldies and I can’t remember Sanchez even making one save. We had trouble passing through their press, we had trouble getting the ball to stick upfield and we also were carved open a few too many times for comfort. But, a point here is a good point under the circumstances I suppose and a clean sheet is great. But a few more bodies in attacking positions wouldn’t go amiss to say the least. Hopefully we’ll get what we need the last weeks of the window. -

We haven’t been great. But we haven’t been poor either. Some key players playing like they’re drunk though. ASM/Bruno and Joelinton has been below par so far. They’ve set high standards for themselves though. Good thing is we’re still in it and I reckon we nick this 2nd half. -

Have a feeling we’ll go there and get a win. They are a well drilled team but so are we nowadays. I think Big Joe and Bruno will swing this in our favor. 0-2 Callum and Bruno with the goals. -
Haha! Same here. Fits like a tube top. I won’t subject the wife to that. ?
-
Don’t have much choice tbh. Unfortunately the last shirt I bought was the 2004/2005 home shirt and I’ve had a few too many beers since that. ?

What are your minimum expectations for this season? (2022/23)
clintdempsey replied to Rich's topic in Football
As of today I’d be happy with 10th and a clear progression in our philosophy and attacking play. As for the cups it’s hard to tell really but as long as we give it a good go and put out teams that threaten the opponents I’m good. If we do manage to get in an attacking signing or two before the deadline I think we can threaten 7th which probably is what I’d want after last season’s finish. As we stand we look a bit light and very sensitive to any injuries in the front 6 positions. Hopefully the club manages to strengthen though, I’d think we’d be in for a really fun season in that case. -

Finally time for Gameday again! ? Can’t fucking wait tbh. I love this feeling. Let’s get at them from the start and we’ll demolish them. -
They’re probably done before the weekend for broadcasters?

It’s really low for the role isn’t it? Or are the salaries “low-ish” in the area? I’ve a friend who’s a marketing manager for a Swedish ice hockey club who makes twice as much (for a club with a revenue 1/10th of the size of NUFC’s). Strange.

Playing really good so far. I’m psyched for this season. So much to like from staff to owners to players. ? -

Anderson certainly looks like he has a certain swagger about him. He’ll break out this season.
