  1. Woodgate was very good. Coloccini has come from a different league and adapted his game to become the complete colossus he is. I know who I'll remember in 10 years.
  2. Ronaldo

    Alan Pardew

Comes from a very solid source.
  3. Bud, he played behind a midfield of Solano, Speed, Dyer/Jenas/Viana, Robert. He was rarely under serious pressure. O'Brien looked OK behind that midfield, even without Woody. We had a fucking incredible team team then. A team that defended from the front, as it should be.
  4. You've mentioned several times in the past on here about you seeing Woodgate out in Middlesbrough when you were at Uni down there, and acting the big lad. At times I feel it clouds your judgement of him. As you always seem to bring it up whenever somebody mentions him. It makes me cringe whenever someone mentions him replacing Terry or Ferdinand. I wouldn't even say he acted 'the big lad'. He just acted like a complete clown.
  5. I said Woodgate was very good for us. Where's the bias in that? As Sewelly mentioned, you do have this habit of trying to rewrite history with your opinions. The "mistakes" thing is a pile of s****, for instance, as Tooj has pointed out. Agree that Colo is better than Woodgate though. He's as good a defender but his robustness hands him the edge easily. Eh? You don't think Woodgate made mistakes? Well I'm fairly sure he did make a mistake or two, like any defender or any footballer, but certainly not to the point where you could use it as a criticism of him (like people do with Titus). Woodgate made mistakes, he wasn't perfect. He was a very good defender for us, no better. Coloccini is a level above.

  7. Nunthorpe. I barely know where that is.

  9. Woodgate was a bit better than very good. Barring injuries should have been at the back with Ferdinand for England for the past 6 years Nah, Terry is a better player and person. Terry might shag Bridge's ex, but you wouldn't find him in Blue Lounge on Linthorpe Road at 2AM licking spilit vodka off the floor. I think Woodgate had all of the tools to cut it at the top level, he'd have been far more suited to international football than Terry. (Who hasn't looked as good for England as he has for Chelsea) Terry and Ferdinand looked absolute quality in 2006. It was the failing of those at the other end of the pitch that denied them acknowledgement as a partnership.
  10. Just the one that took us out of the CL.

  12. Woodgate was a bit better than very good. He wasn't. He made his mistakes and looked pretty assured behind an excellent midfield. Arguably the best in the PL.

    Alan Pardew

Just heard that he was asked to leave Floritas. Pissed out of his tree.
  14. Woodgate was very good; Bramble was good too. Coloccini's in a different league.
  15. Ronaldo

    Shola Ameobi

No hint of a goal threat, as usual, but played pretty well.
  16. Best defender I've ever seen in black and white by a mile. Absolute quality. £10.5M is a fucking bargain.
  17. Hope Chelsea drop out of the top 4 this season. Even if it means Spurs and/or Liverpool getting in there.
  18. And that's why Malouda should always be played wide of the striker.
  19. Chelsea need a strong, imposing manager, not a 23-year-old ginger weed. Won't end well.

    Sunderland...

Double agent Doubtfire is doing a terrific job. Long may it continue.
  21. 3 Chelsea players going for the same ball there. The Special One.
  22. Ian W thinks every man will do well at everything. Early days for Long yet, but he's made a good start.
