Most certainly has. He looked effective for a period under Roeder, but came back from a long-term injury with at least a stone of extra muscle, and he's never really looked good since. There's very little to judge, as it's all in black and white, really. Shearer's record doesn't really match up to the very best, as good as it is.

Depends on the gulf in quality. I think it's pretty considerable in this case, as I've made very clear. In other words, I'm starting to get angry.

And Ronaldo is quite clearly a better goalscorer than Shearer. It's quite laughable that someone saying Shearer deserves a 9 would provoke this much arguement. He was great, but there's no arguement for calling him the best, or as good as the best.

Not sure if you're all actually this biased, or just trying to appear so. Nowt to be proud of either way.

Clearly not. Nobody is denying he's the best goalscorer this country has had in the last 20 years. Doesn't put him up there with the likes of Ronaldo and Romario, though.

You're talking about him like he was a world beater. He was an exceptional domestic-level forward who scored lots of goals. He isn't top tier.

well he is, its his position...its the otherway round in my opinion, he just so happens to have a good athleticism and is able to use other aspects of his game... Well, no, it's not. Stop being brainless. He lies deeper than at least two or three of the other Chelsea players on the pitch. He's more of a playmaker than a targetman. He even takes the fucking free-kicks and corners some of the time.

How doesn't he deserve a 10 for goalscoring like? Because in the history of football, there have been better goalscorers. Giving him a 10 for heading is ludicrous; Ferdinand and Carroll are two of our former players who did it better.

Drogba isn't a targetman. He's just a very well-rounded forward techincally and athletically who happens to be good with his back to goal.
