He's not really shone at all in the Championship unfortunately. Was terrible against Cardiff and only a little bit better today. I'm not sure what's up with him but he seems bereft of that bit of pace and sharpness he had 2 years ago.

He's been good since getting in and is obviously a better keeper than Elliot and Sels. He's still a way behind Krul, to be fair, but he's got plenty of time on his side.

However seeing Gayle/Mitrovic isolated up front next season is not something to look forward to. What in the hell are you talking about, man? I'm talking about only playing one up front, something I'm fairly sure you don't like either. I'd have far less of an issue with it in the PL, to be fair. In the Championship I definitely want to see two strikers, but f***ing hell, as if you could draw a comparison with that lot. Doesn't even need to be an old fashioned 2 up front. Cole/Beardsley-Shearer/Bellamy were a supposed 2 up but much more a one up and one off with great support. With the personnel we have I believe that's what will get the best from us.

The state of their team today was embarrassing, mind. It's like a who's who of godawful Championship/League One horseshit.

The striker situation is more clear cut. We know that Perez isn't a PL striker - he isn't a striker full stop, tbh - and that neither Gayle or Mitrovic are likely to get much more than 10 goals. We definitely need to invest very decent money in that area should we go up.
