  1. People rated him because he was a young player that showed a lot of potential in an awful side, not because of his tweets. He was a positive player who'd run at and beat men and displayed some great technique with some of his finishing. He's regressed massively and I don't see anyone defending him really but let's not pretend he was always shit and it's fair enough if people wanted to give him a chance under Rafa. Yep.
  2. In the hypothetical long run I know it'll work. Problem is, the prospect of having any long term with Rafa is completely predicated on being successful this season. His system has big limitations in this context but he just won't stray from it. Playing just one defensive midfielder is the most cavalier he'll ever be. We have to accept it and just hope we bring in players who'll make it work to the extent we pull well away from 3rd.
  3. I don't think he's limited on the ball at all. I think that he's got a decent range of passing on him, he's just not somebody to rely on to create things for you. Yeah, he's certainly not limited - that's a weird conclusion to come to. He's displayed some really good passing (cute short passes, as well as more expansive stuff) and has made some really impressive driving runs. He shouldn't be your main creative central force in midfield but he's a very capable partner for someone of that ilk. Are you both on glue? You both concede he has limitations on the ball.
  4. Hayden won several tackles in important positions leading to attacks yesterday and usually does, which is why Rafa likes him so much. The problem is that he's extremely limited on the ball and when asked to play a little bit out of the realms of his comfort zone in lieu of Shelvey he was always going to be found wanting.
  5. Controlling the game really doesn't mean you deserve to win it, like. It just makes it easier.
  6. It all depends on what we do in the window, really. If we don't invest we're likely only one serious injury (Shelvey, Gayle) away from finishing outside the top two.
  7. I think he's absolutely immense at this level but given that we'd hypothetically play with one striker in the PL it'd be foolish not to buy someone of greater quality.
  8. You'd have to be in utter denial not to come to that conclusion at this point.
  9. Alright Charnley. What do you mean by that? We sold all of our best players and made a profit of over £30m. It has to be factored in. Of course we should be doing better with the players we have, but I expected our squad to be far stronger at the start of September and we're paying the price a bit now for the lack of genuine quality in several positions.
  10. That's bullshit. We spent less than anyone else in real terms.

Who the fuck are you kidding man? He'll be back to League One as soon as we get someone in. Bolton fans think he's 'alright, not arsed if (they) keep him'. Says it all.
  12. I think a big part of the issue is that we're not only dropping points; we're losing to the league's worst teams and playing very poorly in doing so. When we go 1-0 down it's game over and everyone knows it. If we go up and carry that same trend into next season we'll be lucky to get 35 points. It's something to needs to be addressed with a revision of the team's setup when we have the ball and imminent investment in at least two attacking players - not squad players, players who push shite like Alsoran and Colback out of the team.
  13. Badly need rid of this shithouse now. He's the exact opposite to everything you want in a winger. No invention or talent on the ball, thoroughly predictable and one-paced.
  14. Same s**** side that dominated this match for 85 minutes? We couldn't create a single clear-cut chance against the third worse defence in the division, man. Well that's a lie. Aye, I can't even comprehend how much of a contrary agenda you need to have to be able to say we created nowt in that game like. I didn't say that, though. There was nothing clear-cut. Half chances for Gayle and Clark admittedly. Gayle's chance for when he was slipped through by Gouffran was clear-cut. I don't agree, but even if I did that would be one in 95 minutes against an utterly terrible team even by this league's standards.
  15. It's pretty fucking embarrassing, like.

  17. The subs are largely poor too, though. People who think we're gonna win this league without investment this month need a wake-up slap.

  19. I'm fed up of it now, like. Failing to score twice against this absolute shit, man. We're an embarrassment and he's got to take his share of the blame.
  20. Perez over Gouffran on the left every day of the week.
  21. I don't get how people's minds work, like. Of all the footballers in the world completely unsuited to both Rafa's tactical approach and his style of management HBA is easily one of the first that comes to mind, and I loved him when he was here.
  22. Think I'd go along with that.
