His 'touch and control' isn't the issue. It's basically everything else. I do like Perez but if he had any real future in English football he'd be taking the piss out of this league, not struggling to impact games against the worst sides in the division.
A winger has to be unpredictable for me and Gouffran's pretty much the most predictable attacking player in our squad. He's about as much of a goal threat as Perez and will retain the ball a bit better but we've got to get a better option for that position in January, man. Both to consolidate our position in this league and with a view to next season hopefully in the PL.
I didn't think he was that bad last week. At least not compared to his performance against Cardiff where time and time again he was unequivocally outpaced by Championship cloggers who looked about as athletic as Craig Moore's last stand.
We're much easier to play at home than away, like. We were bloody awful against Cardiff 3 weeks ago, too. We don't have enough threat and penetration when teams set themselves up to stifle. With Gayle off the pitch this is especially true.
We're gonna lose to some utter shit at home this season if we persist with this one striker nonsense, mind. It might work if we had a good no.10 to play off the front but we don't. It's actually our weakest area of the team.
I'm not impressed with the arrogance in our starting XI tbh. We got what we deserved.
Taking out our only reliable source of goals was begging for this, tbh.
I'm sure a few wanted mitro playing.
Instead of Gayle? Anything who wanted that is a fucking idiot.

Losing to another team destined for League One? We can't keep pretending the likes of Perez are good enough, mind. Certainly not for where we want to be.
