    Hatem Ben Arfa

There isn't one player in our squad who wouldn't be better with KK in charge. A fair few would be out of the team, mind.

More talented was what was I read. Use the search function, but you can probably guess who made the KK comment by yourself. Everything I've said there has been said on here in the past 18 months. I don't want to bring up what people have said when they're using hearts instead of heads because I'm terrible for it, especially after games, but Hatem's got a loyal and dedicated following on here who make him out to be something above what he is. He's a lovely footballer but nowhere near that level.

I wish you were still banned.

Quite agree with this. Hatem's our most capable player by far but the nonsense I've read about him on here is something, like. Apparently more talented than Bale and Rooney and with KK in charge he'd be the best player in the league - and that's just stuff coming from posters I respect. Total hyperbole that, definite reaching. People have said he'd improve, people have said he's extremely talented. The rest is untrue I've physically read it on here, it's not untrue.
  5. Which other signings did we make to go from 11th to 4th? I'm not saying they're solely responsible for the finish, but they are solely responsible for the improvement.
  6. You again? The 'return' rarely goes to the club.

  8. Pardew is doing a shite job with Ben Arfa, other clubs showing an interest in him or not doesn't change that. Ben Arfa isn't doing himself justice and he never will if he's not playing games. I completely agree. I actually think it is worse than the Souness vs Robert/Bellamy stuff. Steady on, man, they were two players with a track record of turning mediocrity into Champions League finishes all by themselves, and they left the club for a combined £6m - the stuff of complete and utter madness. Bellamy was our best player and top PL scorer by far when he was frozen out. Robert had just had the season of his life when it happened to him.
  9. If I was Moyes I'd probably try to preserve a stalemate at OT then go for it at the Allianz.
  10. They used to do that, didn't they? I don't think so this year.
  11. Real will win it. Thought so all season.
  12. Only Real would've been worse for them. Ouch indeed.
  13. It's like you're in a constant battle to offer opposition to even the most basic common sense. Common sense is winning.
  14. This I agree with. Even discounting the fact that it's sensible for the incoming players to reflect the style and mentality, ultimately the manager should know more about the game than anyone else at the club, anyway. Don't get me wrong here, I'd rather Pardew was having as little influence on the personnel as possible, but if he HAS to be here, I'd rather it was him picking which players we bring in than anyone else at NUFC. I think it's far more complicated than that. Firstly, the manager doesn't have time to watch enough players, so he must rely on scouts who he trusts to have a massive input. Secondly he doesn't know enough about finance and negotiation to do that side of things either. So yes, he should have a massive say, and he should probably be more important than the other people in the 'committee'. But I assume that is basically what happens at the majority of clubs anyway. You actively tried to disagree there and couldn't quite manage it. Such a strange lad.

  16. He hasn't let a manager have a genuine say in transfers since Allardyce pissed away nearly £7m on Alan Smith.
  17. Man U under Moyes are still generally very good away from home, and we've got nowt to play for.
  18. 2 games in which he scored, basically.
  19. “I’m my own man and I will manage this football club to the best of my ability,” he said. “Graham comes up with one or two suggestions, I come up with the same, we probably have a list of four that myself and Graham think will take the team forward, we present that to Joe, and he presents it to the owner. And if Pardew wants a player and Carr doesn't, they don't sign him. Pardew isn't in charge, and never has been. EDIT: That quote contradicts your point anyway.
  20. He's never been in charge of transfers, by his own admission.
  21. So basically Lee Charnley reports directly to Ashley.
  22. Wanted us to sign him for years. Messi says he's shit, though.
