That's a load of bullock about Coloccini. It would be, wouldn't it? It means we can't apportion as much blame to Pardew.
-
Easily Colo's worst performance for us, like. Horrendous. Unable and unwilling.
-
Gouffran doesn't threaten from wide, though, ever. He's a striker playing wide because he'll cover the full-back.
-
I'd play him RB the second Taylor's fit, dude. Fingers crossed he'll be ready and able to start for us at CB next season with a partner better than Taylor when Colo slinks back off to Argentina.
-
He's 24 and has being playing in English football for 20 games. The French league is utter fucking shit. He was signed because he's French, is in the spotlight with the international side and was relatively cheap. Same reasons Debuchy was targeted. He's still got loads and loads to learn and 24 is still a baby for a CB so there's plenty time to do it. With his size he'll always need a dominant CB alongside him, though.
-
If the players think Pardew's tactics are to blame why aren't they going above his head? They either don't give a fuck or accept blame themselves. Far too many players here for the money, that's a big part of the problem. MYM can be a good player in the PL but alongside a weak, slow, non-assertive excuse for a captain he's being fed to the fucking wolves. I do love Colo for how good he's been for us but what chance does a young CB have of learning the English game alongside someone who is (from now on) always going to be exposed by it?
-
It won't be interesting at all. We already know that he's a very capable defender on the deck that can't compete in the air or with physical forwards because of his size and inexperience.
-
Jobs for the cheap and cheerful.
-
Creativity on the ball and nous off it. It's not ideal but there's a serious fucking problem if we can't control the game against the likes of Hull and Cardiff.
-
Welcome, mate.
-
He's doing really well without injuries and the Europa League, like.
-
Hopefully not, no. Hopefully we spend money on a good defender who can consistently play PL football for the first time in the best part of a decade.
-
Out wide he adds to the creativity problem. Through the middle or on the bench.
-
We did that. Went well. Very well.
-
And who advocated that partnership with Colo available? Are you sniffing glue tonight, dude?
-
he could just pick defenders that are best equipped to deal with the opposition strikers. Totally agree, a quick striker like Bellamy, for me you play Mapou. For a player like Elmander you play Williamson or Saylor (neither but they are our only options in the air). You play Taylor and Colo together whenever they're both fit for this season. Then you replace Colo in the summer and look to bring someone in Mapou can play with and learn from. It's not just about the opposing strikers, by the way. yeh but like you said theres no future with colo in defence. Is that not what I just said, like right there?
-
Except this faction exists only in your head. Nobody barring the odd fool is writing Mapou off and even Taylor's biggest fans on here generally think he's pretty average.
-
Ahead of who? MYM right now. But after the last 2 league games I'm losing patience with Colo. Physically too vulnerable and teams know it.

In fairness to Keegan he did something about it when he was fed the same bullshit and undermined. Pardew is happy to be a puppet as long as he gets his pay check. In fairness my arse. What you on about now? I stated that Pardew made reference to us targeting a CB so obviously he recognised the need for one. I didn't make any case for compassion for him regarding his role within the club and club's transfer policy.
-
Manager's fault again for defending a 12-year-old would be ashamed of. Quality.
-
Like he always did against Drogba? I'm not a fan of Taylor but he'll walk back into this side.
-
In fairness to Pardew he made references to getting more presence at CB in May/June. By July/August he had completely changed his tune, saying we were sorted at the back. Obviously he was told we had £2m to spend.
-
Not to mention the fact that Colo and Mapou are to defending set pieces what Tiote is to defence-splitting passes.
