  1. My favourite chant was "Who's the faggot in the pink".
  2. A little irony in being wrong and not seeing it in an admit you're wrong thread.
  3. I thought Gullit would take us to the next level. I've not been wrong about anything since though.
  4. You mean you sit down? I hate the bastards that don't stand shirtless for 90 minutes and only stop singing for breath.
  5. The tune is Paul McCartneys classic dirge on racial harmony, Ebony and Ivory.... Germemi and Obafemi Birth certificates in perfect harmony side by side with their genuine passports oh lord, life's been rough

http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/8855/80433826mv7.jpg he was apparently dancing around, singing his heart out and having a great time. Would love to see footage of that More reason to smile than any of us. It's worth a fortune to him if we stay up.
  7. I got butterflies a couple of times in the second half yesterday, reading that has just done it again.
  8. It's harsh how if a player comes on for a couple of minutes he gets no higher than a 4, which would suggest he was absolute garbage. The Sun does that for all matches. Aren't they fantasy football points in the sun though, which would be fair enough.
  9. Not quite true. A lot of the opinion pieces have been utter shite. But I couldn't really argue with any of the match reports that said we were shit the last few months. Of course Martin Samuel, Jimmy Greavous and the rumour mongering twats will be in no way compelled to chow down on humble pie.
  10. Christ it's dull when there's nowt to complain about.
  11. Papers just telling it like it is all along shocker.

  16. Second time Keegan has saved us from a catastrophic season and possible relegation (touch wood) now. Worth at least a bit of self-congratulatory group wanking.
  17. I was looking for a job and then I found a job, and heaven knows I'm miserable now.

Of course, a lot of that is kidology to gee up the current squad, just their age (as I said in the Wise thread) dictates that we need quite a few new faces.

I think thats quite a sensible perspective. If we dispatch of Reading in a similar style, then maybe some of the optimism is well placed. The club has a habit of bringing its supporters back down to earth though. That said, i have been working out if its possible to catch West Ham this morning It's happening man....Can you feel it? Reading will be a real barometer of the mark Keegan has put on the squad. If he really belives that the current lot are nearly good enough (with a couple of exciting additions), then looking at Reading's squad we should be dispatching them with relative ease at home. They will be up for it as usual. I don't for a minute believe that KK's spending in the market will be conservative. He likes his good players too much. The relegation of Duff and Smith shows he is also quick to address what his side needs and is confidant of his vision. Whatever Nicos says the summer spend will be in relative terms a marker set down by KK...And MA..They both will want to show intent and enjoy KK's 3 year current spell. The rumours coming out of the players we're looking at might be driven by many sides, but this kind of thing generates its own momentum. Successful business is ultimately about ideas..... The process KK is in atm is building belief in the current squad, he's looking for that extra 10% from them (look at all the shots from outside the area, look at Owen trying weaving runs at the heart of def, look at Viduka tracking back...) But come summer it will another story it will all be about who is coming in. He might be saying nice things about the players now, but in a few weeks time he will be ruthless imo. You know I think we'll destroy Reading. "We're a small squad but if we can add little bits to this, it could be quite exciting. What you've got can sometimes get lost when you are having a bad run but when they start playing like that, you think 'We don't actually need an awful lot to set us alight' - just two or three [new signings]. If you asked the players 'Would you welcome two or three big signings in the summer?' they would say yes, because players want to play with good players. But they would have to be very, very good players to come here and better us. If you've got fitness, ability, experience and you put desire with that, then you can go anywhere in football." -Keegan
  20. There was an hilarious moment when they had a free kick and Butt grabbed his arm and just yanked him into place. Owen's didn't seem to mind like. Who got the armband when he came off btw? I didn't notice.
  21. Beye, Butt, Cacapa, Carr, Faye, Given/Harper and Viduka all the wrong side of 30. Barton, Duff, Geremi, Emre, Owen, and Smith all getting there fast. Carrol, Edgar, Forster, Enrique, Zoggy, Milner, LuaLua, Ramage, Taylor, Tozer, Troisi our under 25's. Martins, who knows? The majority of the players Keegan is putting his faith in (and that are returning it) are getting on a bit. For a club with a policy of signing young talent that goes back years, how have we ended up with such an aged collection of stalwarts? God knows what's going on in Zoggy's head, Milner might be in Keegans plans when he's fit, but looking at the emboldened first team which have turned the bad run around recently, you can't help but think they're getting on, and I can't believe Geremi's under 30 is he? Wisey wants to start picking up some gems soon as our policy of buying quality young players seems to have yielded little so far.

It's exactly the right time to get carried away. We've not had the opportunity in four or five years, who's to say we will in the next. Enjoy the sun while it shines man, it's up to the players not to get carried away. They get paid to not get carried away, I don't. Can we spend that £100m now?? Nope. Maybe when we're in europe. ....so that's after next season.
