Your solution is what I was expecting/hoping for and seems a good compromise. no doubt there are people manipulating things and that, and there’s not mass illnesses but there are real cases and I think it’s mad the ticket goes to waste. The year before last I couldn’t go to Everton cos I was ill and Sifu drove all the way from Manchester to Newcastle just to pick up my ticket. Someone who really wants it - now that’d be thrown in the bin. I can think of at least three other occasions when day-of I’ve not been able to make an away match and passed my ticket on. So yes I hope they bring in limited transfers. (true I’m mostly invested because I want to be able to get a couple from my dad and the guy I passed my points to when I moved abroad. But I do also aside from that think it’s a silly situation)

Possibly overblown but ID checks created empty seats because people who could not attend late on - for whatever reason,illness, disruption etc, most notably I think when there was a train strike - were unable to pass the tickets on without fear of losing their points.

Not sure which thread this kind of discussion was taking place in, but... While I didn't expect there was much hope of ID checks for away games being completely scrapped, I was hopeful that some kind of limited number of transfers (as with home tickets) would be brought in for away games, after multiple shambolic situations last season where seats had to go empty. Was there ever some kind of response to this?

I’ve come around to the idea of a new city stadium if it’s the only way to get me / other locked out back in. But I do think it’ll be worse than SJP cos I’ve never been to a new stadium that I’ve not thought is lacking in character of its predecessor. I suppose I’m just very conservative on this. In 50 years these might have a kind of character. I’ve not been to Tottenham’s new one though. Ultimately I need to be inside though.
