There is a black Aston with the reg N11 UFC that I have seen around Low Fell a couple of times, anyone know if that belongs to a player or just a wealthy fan?

When I played Sunday morning football I wasn't bothered whether I was playing at home or away, apart from the fact that we had to travel in various states of alcohol induced states to some other venue, everything else was the same. The best team always seemed to win the match!

Pretty much what I thought!

Van Aanholt's loan is only 1 month........
-
Please be Michael Owen.............. Although, whoever it is you have to feel for them!!

Anyone else notice that Loven's hat-trick was "the perfect hat-trick"? Right foot Head Left foot That should make Soccer Am on Saturday morning!!

I am going, think there will be only me and Skirge there judging by most peoples reaction to this game! I am really looking forward to going, it has been a couple of weeks since I was at a match and longer since I felt the satisfaction of a home win!! I need my fix!! Full strength first team out please!!

In all honesty that remark was slightly tongue in cheek anyway, the chances of either of those two clubs being relegated is practically zero! Would be great if it did happen though!

I agree. I don't think we will get more than 50k in for WBA, a lot depends on the away support being sold out as to the size of the crowd. Two positives: 1) We now have the record for this league for the highest attendance since all seater stadiums, that is a record unlikely to be beaten unless Man Utd or Arsenal get relegated any time soon. We will almost certainly beat this record with at least one full house this season as the likelihood of promotion draws nearer. 2) Our average attendances are still tremendous, we are over 40k practically every week, now that the half season ticket holders are here the weekly home average will be near mid 40's without too much effort.

True, it wasn't really level 7 that lowered the crowd for the Derby game it was the more expensive ticket areas, loads of gaps in the bottom left and bottom right areas of the Milburn and fairly sparce below the directors seats in the Platinum Club.
-
Derby looked fuller, than Boro which was 49,600 or something, and as full as almost any game last season. Definitely more than 47,500. i agree with this, Derby match the ground looked full whereas it didn't against Boro. I am in the East Stand and from that position it is easier to see whether we have a big crowd or not, the usual areas that are generally empty are the premium ones such as the Platinum Club, Bar 1892 and Sovereign Club all in the Milburn. I can also see right around level 7 and if I am totally honest the Boro game looked like there were far fewer gaps in the crowd, the away area was fuller and generally I thought that the Derby crowd, although impressive, was clearly lower than the Boro crowd.

FYP That will probably be nearer the mark actually.........

There is huge availability in every area (bar level 7 which is closed) for the Plymouth game. My guess is that we will probably be around 23k attendance next Wed.

Wasn't Coyle a Bolton player for a couple of seasons? Would that have any effect on a decision as to whether to make the move. Personally I would stay at Burnley, seems like a club with some passion about it while Bolton seem to have the worst set of fans in the North West, dead and lifeless and a stadium in Tesco's carpark.

Always thought that he would make an excellent coach, the way that he marshalled the team when he played and constantly talked to his fellow midfield players with instructions has always made me wish that he would take a post in the Newcastle coaching staff. If Hughton had any sense he would be asking whether Solano was interested!

If it is called off it's ok, we can just watch it on tele instead.................................

I am pretty consistent, for Sat 3pm games my dad comes round to my house around 12noon, we have a sandwich, usually Sausage then head out on the Metro around 1:30. Get of at Central and go into The Centurian drink at least 3 pints of Fosters, occasionally 4 then walk the exact same route to St James', use the same zebra crossings and enter by the same turnstyle for every game. I never wear my football shirt as everytime I do we get beat, this is a fact!! Thinking about this while writing my routine has made me realise how supersticious I actually am..........
-
Another memory was that everyone was given a frisk down by a police officer after you passed through the turnstyle, at least in the Gallowgate we did.
-
Memories of the 80's are without question just turning up at the Gallowgate Turnstyles at 10 to 3, paying £1.50 on the day to get in. It used to get so crowded in The Corner that it was impossible to move, I remember being struck on the back of the head by an object that landed in the hood of my snorkel jacket and I couldn't get my hands up to take it out until half time, it turned out to be a bottle full of piss!! Glad it didn't break for more than one reason!! Keegan as a player, Gazza, Waddle, Beardsely - absolutely great times!!

When Shearer scored v Portsmouth to become our highest ever scorer made me feel immensly proud to be a supporter of this club.
-
Nice! Must be being made really welcome by the fans and must be a proper fans favourite down there! We should have treated him better when he played for us................. Oh we did??
-
He must have picked that bag up while shopping in Cruise in Sunderland, oh, err hang on!!
-
I refuse to buy anything from Sports Direct and haven't since he came to the club!! As far as buying stuf from inside the stadium such as a beer, that doesn't hurt him at all, the franchise rights are sold off to outside caterers who then make their money back by selling disgusting beer and foul pies at high profit margins. You will only be hurting the franchisee by boycotting them. However, the lager is the worst I ever tasted and tend not to buy one too often anyway!! They could call the stadium the Mike Ashley hates all Geordies Stadium and I would still refer to it as St James' so while I find the whole thing mildly unsavoury (like the pies) I am not really that bothered.
-
He rarely misplaces a pass or header, even when under pressure, which sets him leagues ahead of our holding midfield specialist - Nicky Butt!! Personally I would love him to score a couple of goals as well this season, just to put the icing on the cake. Well on the way to being player of the season for me. Kevin Nolan also deserves a note for effort as well, while others are sauntering around at their own pace he is busting a gut to close players down etc. Again not the most talented player but, great for us in this league!

You probably sit close to me then, I am in row M in the East Stand and in the heat of it all didn't see enough to single out Khisanisvilli for a red while others involved only got yellow. I only saw the throat grab on the BBC highlights and to be honest I have seen loads worse than that go unpunished in football. Anyway, pretty sure we all have better things to do than to argue about who knows more than each other about football. The red card stands and no-one else is getting punished, let's move on to more important matters.
