He was noticeably getting more tackles in for sure, and being more active in engaging opponents rather than just standing in front of them.

I guess for a lot of people the most memorable part of the game was the most negative part, where we made loads of mistakes and nearly fell apart. But the whole game wasn’t like that. It could’ve gone to either team really, but nobody can have complaints about us winning. We played some better stuff in spells.

I think one of the reasons I was happy we didn't sign Maddison is that he's so difficult to accommodate. Talented player but significant things he's not good at in wide forward and midfield positions.

Our front 6 is going to be terrifying once they're properly up and running. Minus Man City and Salah they're as good as anybody around.

The possession thing is really tricky to judge. I would love a more possession-based team, but I know it's not Howe's main focus. That said, a lot of the time we lose the ball it's just an individual mistake from a player who is not very good technically, so those ones aren't tactical.
