  1. You don't have to decisively prove things in football though, it's not a court of law. People are suspended and fined on the balance of probability all the time, it's mostly subjective.
  2. Well, if anyone "expects" us to beat Chelsea they are mental, so you're right.
  3. Yes, there should be severe action taken against him is there's a chance he got booked on purpose. Ridiculous to allow it in the game. Or better, league suspensions should only apply to league games, and vice versa for cup ones.

With Tiote back to protect us, and a proper fullback so Jonas doesn't have to protect Raylor, we'll be awesome.
  5. There were so many stories like that on the 606 special the other night. Savage was in bits, normally hate the guy but he was obviously crushed. I think Shay Given was in tears during the silence as well. So sad.

I don't think he's biased, he's just not very good at predictions so he always goes for the big team.
  7. I don't think Raylor's was a penalty TBH, I hate to see those given. There's no rule that says you have to keep your hands glued to your sides. If your arm is out and the ball is kicked off it IMO it's still ball-to-hand.
  8. Never thought I'd see that said about Guthrie on here. Fair play to him, he's obviously knuckled down and upped his game. Great to have an extra option.
  9. Listening to 606 podcast, a few people were talking about the Evra handball. Those who saw it, was it a decent shout for a pen? Don't think they showed it on MOTD.
  10. Same, everyone on the tube to work was reading the paper with pictures of him everywhere. The thought of him getting to the point where he had to do this is truly shocking.

It's funny how losing possession by launching the ball forward isn't as bad as losing possession by dribbling the ball at a player. In all levels of British football, if a fullback humps the ball down the line he's playing "percentage football" but if an attacking player dribbles at a defender he's taking unnecessary risks.
  12. As long as it's not Umbro or Lonsdale, I'm more than happy.
  13. It was hilarious watching their reactions on MOTD for the penalty. It was like the very idea that a penalty had been awarded against them was fundamentally unacceptable to the players and fans. And not to mention the classic Fergie watch-pointing, comedy gold.
  14. although it's highly likely theres nothing to say it was depression yet. I know, just guessing for now.
  15. Genuinely shaken when I heard this news. To think of a guy at the top of his profession, doing a great job, wife and two kids at home, doing this is truly tragic. Just shows how inexplicable and insidious depression can be (if that's what it was) - can even take people who appear to have everything going for them.

Got a strong feeling he'll score against Man Utd.
  18. They obviously didn't want to qualify for the next round man.
  19. That's not really his fault though, he's obviously been told to protect Ryan Taylor - especially against the good teams. Of course. But against Everton there was need for him to sit back for such long periods, although I think he was pretty fucked that day. And City, didnt see him get out of his own half much. We've pretty much played without a left midfielder the last 3 games. Got us 6 points of course, but just hope it doesnt become a permanant fixture. Aye, I know what you mean, I want to see Jonas getting forward much more as well. Might not happen against Man Utd and Chelsea mind. Guess it will be easier when we finally face facts and drop Raylor for Santon.
  20. Real shame for Guthrie if he misses out as well, but is there really that much between him and Gosling?

  22. He seems a sound lad, I doubt he's pissing us about for the sake of it. But a footballer's career is very short and he might well think it's worth taking a step down in terms of club to earn a bit more. Don't want to see him go like, I like him.
