  1. I like West Ham too much to hope they're cursed by Sam. I do want them to go down this season though obviously, so wouldn't be the end of the world.
  2. Never a penalty. Never realised fans were allowed to referee games now, I'm not even qualified.
  3. He'll never eat chicken again. Much less curried [/casual racism]
  4. At least accidental/ignorant racism is slightly better than deliberate/malicious. That's something.
  5. It's incredible to think how fun this season would have been with Ben Arfa playing. De Jong's got a lot to answer for.
  6. I sort of agree, although if we sign him on terms that the club are happy with then I wouldn't mind having him as a squad player. Still think he's a decent defender when properly fit, and can also cover RB. In theory.
  7. I wouldn't support deliberately targeting De Jong with a leg breaker, I would rather we just consistently hammered the bloke for the full 90 minutes like Wolves did to Barton. If he does get injured, then all the better.
  8. Oh now I get it, it's because the owners are Asian. Well done.
  9. Taylor and Campbell are just both compounding each other's weaknesses at the moment. Neither of them can turn or move around very well - and they're both defending too deep and desperately because they're unfit. Both could be good for us again, if they drop out of the team for a few weeks and sort out their fitness. Obviously they're were never intended to play as much so soon.
  10. Does anyone know what their fans actually thought of him? Surely actually increases their chances of relegation, now we've snapped up Pardew
  11. He did everything right with that chance as well really, just didn't manage to get it to bend in quite enough. Other than that it was excellent. Would like to see him given more time against Birmingham, if Shola's struggling (which it looks like he fucking is) then may as well start him.
  12. That tactics board is classic. He should have just written "play football" and saved time.
  13. I thought the FA had already said they were unlikely to act.
  14. I'm expecting a post like this at the end of every thread now, it's disappointing when I don't find it.
  15. I was terrified of relegation under Sam, for sure. I was sure we were heading for the drop.
  16. Judging by Pardew's comments about bringing through young players, Lua Lua might be the long-term option. Jonas has been weak in the last few games, don't know whether he's unfit or what, but he doesn't seem to be playing with the same energy as before.
  17. If Pardew rates him it will be conclusive proof he's got Jedi mind powers.
  18. I lolled quite a lot at Hodgson's face rubbing on MOTD, it was class! Truth is that Liverpool have been carried by Gerrard for years, and they're generally not a great side at all. Torres might regain his form, but even if he does the rest of the squad isn't brilliant.
  19. The turnaround is pretty impressive, looks very confident this season.
  20. Talking of people going down thanks to transfers, W Ham replacing Parker with Barton would be suicide. Unless they go down anyway and buy him for the Champ I suppose.
  21. Until Mike Ashley, probably the worst person associated with NUFC.
  22. Yeah, it's not a situation where it's easy to decide on a position. I hate Ashley, but we can't afford to get relegated and I don't think anything we will realistically do can make him sell any quicker.
  23. But what does that mean? A relegation we 'deserve' is just as bad as one we are martyrs to. What's the point in making it more likely by making it more difficult for him to keep us up? We aren't going to drive Ashley out by singing songs.... inside SJP we may as well get behind the team.
  24. The problem is that it really isn't worth getting relegated to get rid of Ashley. Firstly, it wouldn't work because it would mean that he would be even less likely to get the price he wants to sell up. And second because this time it would be much more serious than the last, with all the decent players probably leaving and us spending an untold number of years outside the top flight. We might never recover. So with that in mind we should do everything we can to help the team stay up.
