  1. I can't see any circumstances where we would (or even should) sack Kinnear this season. Even if we are in the bottom 3 come March, there are no alternatives, except Hughton as caretaker again. Until the club is sold, or Ashley changes his mind, we won't be appointing a top-level permanent manager. Better hang on to our hats lads, it's going to be a hell of a ride.
  2. Still early days for the lad, no? He was in brilliant form before he got injured and he hasn't exactly been playing in a world-beating side.
  3. Always found it ridiculous that clubs speak to their current players about potential signings. So Jonas and Colo have given him 'glowing reports', how much value does that have?
  4. I don't think you're the only one
  5. I'm a big Owen fan but you can't defend him with that argument, all of those players (maybe except RvN) offer a lot to their teams other than goals. Not that offering 'just goals' should be a bad thing.
  6. That's what I was thinking when I looked at the table this morning - there are quite a few clubs that are unusually high up the league at the moment, if reality hits then we we should be alright. Saying that, dropping 2 points to Stoke doesn't help at all.
  7. Since when have hacks like Louise Taylor had to be consistent about anything though? They change their views based on popular opinion and unfolding events all the time.
  8. this, its Keegan vs Ashley, i know whos side i'm on,. without any evidence either way. i'll choose my side when i have some idea of what went on. Me too, and I imagine Keegan's contract and employment was with NUFC rather than with Mike Ashley Ltd, so it will be the club that will have to pay.
  9. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/columnists/gabriele_marcotti/article5263546.ece What do you reckon? People always go on about players not giving 100% and 'wasted talent', but you can't help but warm to his honesty. If I had his talent, I might be the same!
  10. The 'big club' debate is completely pointless and will never be resolved. Whatever it means, I haven't a fucking clue, and I literally couldn't care less what orange boy reckons.
  11. We'd be enjoying Championship football right now if it wasn't for Shay IMO, can't rate him highly enough.
  12. The idea that this even needs to be said is a sad indication of the generally inflated view of Spurs that a lot of fans and media have. Can't explain it...
  13. Very surprised to read that statement. Obviously someone within NUSC is acting as the voice of reason... good to see. Would be interesting if Ashley did indeed say he was going to give it another go, what their reaction would actually be.
  14. I'd like to see him back in the 433 when Viduka is fit, take some of the focus off him and allow him to float about. I don't think Joe will go for it though for some reason.
  15. Four's about right I think, it's possible but it probably won't happen.
  16. There was every reason to think we'd get boned in this one, very happy and surprised we didn't. Well done lads.
  17. The one from Roma is worth 2million apparently. So no Baptista Did he not say they would all be loans though, so the 2m would be for loan fees and wages etc.
  18. You're right, let's close the Football forum... nobody on here has ever been named European footballer of the year.
  19. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/7739830.stm Got to say, even though I think Gallas has been the wrong type of personality for a captain in the past, what he's saying now is exactly what the Arsenal players need to be told. Don't see why he should be getting stick because of it, if it was John Terry saying the same things we'd be loving it.
  20. To be fair, 'executive producer' probably means they're trying to be mates with 50 Cent and put up some of the funding for the film.
  21. I think you're probably right Chez, although it's always possible that the press reporting of the reasons for the breakdown were not the actual ones - and that they just appear to have been correct now because the end result was the one they tried to bring about. I just hate to credit Louise Taylor with knowing what was going on!
  22. Soccer AM was shite, it was about football and in the morning - those were its only two plus points. The actual content of the show was drivel. Haven't read the book but that review is hilarious!
  23. Just randomly reminded of this when I saw someone's sig, but can anyone tell me what it was that Fergie said about Leeds and Stuart Pearce that made KK go mental? I've totally forgotten.
