Parker was awful, and offered no more than Butt - except maybe more stamina. The main thing that irritates me is the 'Nicky Butt patented classy chip forwards', where he kind of floats the ball aimlessly forward and it gets intercepted 99% of the time.

Pack the midfield, some pacy counter-attackers, if Shola could put in a decent shift and hold the ball up we might do alright. Any way you look at it it seems like Chelsea are going to have us in every orifice.

I think that Ashley keeping 'ownership' of the club and bringing in a new, approachable chairman alongside a manager who is happy to work with him would be the best solution all around. I would support a situation like that, even if Ashley stayed as owner. Although I do think the club will be sold, I don't see how anyone can know that a new owner would be any better than the one we have now.

Never really understood this idea that Owen is a 'country player' before a club one. The only way he can get into the England squad is to be playing well and scoring regularly for his club. If you mean that he would move clubs to get a better shot at it, then I suppose that would apply to nearly every international player around.
