I don't rate him at all, I don't know what his strengths are meant to be. Certainly he's not well suited to being a CM in a 3. In hindsight we probably shouldn't have signed him after his loan, but I guess we didn't have anyone else's phone number at the time.

Well, I think there has to be a bit of both. Say Botman was 10% worse than Burn (which I don’t think he is anyway) there would still be an argument to play him.

Botman should be starting every game when fit IMO. Doesn't make sense to hold back his development... he's a top prospect in his position and will become a key part of our team for a decade.

I feel a bit better after watching highlights TBH. They did work really hard and we could easily have had another goal or two. One of those days for this team, we are capable of generating these annoying tight games due to our lack of cutting edge.

I mean, he did deliberately come in on the windup I don’t think the debate was too bad considering. It was mainly about whether they should stick to supporting the team or not. You definitely don’t need to be far left to have a problem with hereditary monarchy.

Very fair post. I had forgotten about the LGBT stuff. Although I wouldn't agree that asserting someone's basic human rights is political, I guess you would get some people who would. Anyway, I'll just try to suffer through it all and not let it affect the day too much. Might be the first time I don't get to the ground ridiculously early

Sorry, that post was about my feelings in general about the Queen passing, I definitely wasn’t saying other people shouldn’t pay respects if they want to. It’s a bit separate to the question about whether WF themselves should be doing it.

I actually didn't realise how much I disliked this kind of thing I think it's because celebrating anything British seems absolutely ridiculous at the moment. Even more so than being about republicanism specifically.

Surely if they don't do anything, people will enjoy the minute silence and singing the national anthem, and applauding in the 70th minute if they want?

Guess the question is who and how much. Sounds like we're already getting a silence and the national anthem from the club/PL.

Well they shouldn't, but the point is that it's a particular position that they've chosen to adopt (if they do a tribute to the monarchy). They've rightly focused on supporting the team and club so far. We haven't seen banners supporting worker strikes, protesting against the cost of living crisis, or that kind of thing. I still love WF no matter what they do here, but I think it would be better to stay out of anything that's not football.

He'll be gone soonish, just a matter of how many windows it takes to upgrade everyone. You can't accommodate someone who is so unreliable, except maybe as 3rd choice or so. Not sure how long his current contract is.
