I feel like with our first trophy in forever and CL qualification we thought we might be able to convince players that we were an attractive destination. Certainly the likes of Joao Pedro, I had no reason to think we couldn't get them.

We can't lose more than 1 or 2 good players and really there's no reason why we should. One below-average season doesn't give every player the licence to demand out.

I can't find what the club have actually said, isn't it just some cosmetic improvements as you might expect for a stadium that is old and we might be leaving soon? Buying bigger TVs doesn't mean they're not working on a new stadium plan.

I'm not embarrassed, I was a little when the mistakes were being made but it is what it is. We know we have mistakes in us when under pressure and we don't have the technical quality of the top teams. We were great for 3/4 of the tie. Next time Sunderland play Barca in the Champions League we can compare notes.
