At the moment drop, but I hope he’s not a lost cause. If he can work on whatever makes him look so panicky all the time, he might have a career yet.

Yeah, I’m very uncomfortable with any kind of mob justice. Actually I didn’t even consider that when I heard he’d been sacked, I just assumed the reaction the tweet generated had brought it to the attention of his employer. That would be slightly different to him being sacked ‘because of people on Twitter’. That would just be saying something that lots of people didn’t like, which then became something his employer didn’t like either.

Keep Schar, Fede depending on signings/fitness, maybe Woodman for a bit longer too. Longstaff is an interesting one still, I think if he finishes this season strong he might get a new deal. Also he might not want one if he can get first-team football lower down.

Everton are poor and have appointed a manager proven not to be able to organise a defence. Two loan CAMs that may or may not do anything. I would still be worried if I was them.

I think it's almost the other way round, people now think that everything you/they say should be public and it has some kind of inherent value. I can't cope with Twitter just because of the volume of content. After I get to following about 30 people I feel swamped. Haven't used it for years.

England’s Dan Burn named Player of the Season 24/25
AyeDubbleYoo replied to Rich's topic in Football
I’m amazed he’s shorter than Daniel Podence, doesn’t seem possible for anyone to be. -
Surely nobody needed to bring it to the attention of his employer anyway, it was public to start with. The force he wanted to use to get a reaction has resulted in a strong reaction, that was the intent. Unfortunately for him the opinion was very ill-advised, and his employer didn’t want to be associated with it.

Matty Longstaff (now playing for Toronto FC)
AyeDubbleYoo replied to toontownman's topic in Football
Aberdeen was a terrible idea, I've said before he should have been sent to Spain or somewhere to learn how to tiki-taka. Suspect Shola just doesn't have the phone numbers or the nouse to call anyone except his mates. Must be moved on for a properly profession setup ASAP. -
Don’t think it was really a decision, they thought they had Ekitike and Lingard.

Only Gray is in any kind of form from what I’ve seen. Capable players on paper though. -
Given how Longstaff has come out on the stats charts recently, he might keep his place. Honestly no idea, I think Joe might end up slightly further forward since we didn’t get Lingard or similar.

People keep saying this about loads of players, get they tend to get dropped or we sign a replacement. Think this one will be interesting TBF.

Tend to agree, he certainly has a better chance with Bruno to pass to him. -
Is he back in the country yet?

I can’t be bothered with clubs disliking eachother at all I’m not a proper football fan really, couldn’t give a shit about who likes or hates who. Every group of fans is basically the same. -
Me too, just losing the theoretical crossing of Fraser. That could be a good source of chances for Wood if he can raise his game a bit in that area.
-
Problem is that three teams go down. Hopefully be a bit more relaxed after the next couple of games and we’ll see everyone bedding in quickly.
-
If he knows where to stand he’s an instant upgrade.
-
Comes with the territory of being a massive player, Shirley.
-
Would’ve been absolutely perfect if we’d got Ekitike and Lingard, so without them it still has to be about an 8.
-
I agree we need goals, but our defence and midfield was shambolic. We’ve lost countless points through our fullbacks not being able to defend, CBs chucking goals in and a non-existent central midfield.
-
Looks that way. He hasn’t ever been close to a start, for as long as I can remember.
-
Think it’s pretty clear Gayle won’t ever be used.
