  1. Endless list in recent years really. Shola’s the one who springs to mind, Dummett, Smith, Butt, any number of shites. Dummett has partly redeemed himself through becoming a semi-useful squad player, but only just. And I am aware Shola cared about the club and tried his best. But both should’ve been peddled a lot earlier.
  2. Agree, but I do think it's odd for the forum to have a specific thread to accommodate talking about the same subject in a different way. That said, I am not a mod and I will never speak of this again
  3. I'm happier he has another year so I don't have to endure the insane disaster of giving him a new deal.
  4. Yeah obvs, without Ashley it's a brilliant project for anyone.
  5. Would definitely be a departure if they decided to back him once he's here.
  6. I'd lose a lot of respect for Howe if he came here.
  7. There's a 100% chance that's just random waffle.
  8. Tend to agree, but I think it'll be because of reputation and style rather than ability. I don't see why he couldn't organise a better club with better players to a similar extent, and achieve more. We will likely never get to find out mind, I know.
  9. This thread really shouldn't exist, I don't see why we can just discuss the takeover in one place.
  10. I'd love a new to club to support, and it doesn't rely on anyone else to sell to us. That said, I get why we aren't there yet.
  11. I didn't, one of the few PL games I've actively avoided.
  12. I don't want Dyche, but at least he has a plan and doesn't lie about what they are. Better than pretending to be a progressive club.
  13. Pretty good if a lot of the payments are recurring.
  14. Signed him for Stuttgart on FIFA 20, he scored 40 goals, then sold him for £50m to Barca to finance a move for Haaland. Make of that what you will.
  15. I didn't think his work on crosses was anything exceptional, but it was solid and I don't remember many major errors.
  16. I’d give Gayle a pass to a large extent, he’s hasn’t played much in his real position.
  17. The whole thing's just too confusing and adds nothing to the game. That Man Utd disallowed goal yesterday... is accidentally touching the face of an opponent with your hand, once you're already past them, even a foul? If so, what rule was VAR looking at and how did they decide? They should be telling fans like they do on American football (for example)... "player X committed rule breach Y, therefore we're doing Z". Part of the problem Is VAR and part of it is football itself. It's a strange sport which is more governed by unspoken conventions than the actual rules. Most fans, pundits, managers and players probably don't even know what the rules say about a given thing. When TV pundits analyse what's happening, there's a good chance they don't have a clue what the basis for a decision should be. If we're keeping it, offside and handball would be the biggest things to fix. For offside you could maybe do 'on-field decision' if it's very close, or even change the rule so it's just based on the position of the feet. Something like that anyway. For handball, the only fair way is the old 'was it deliberate' question IMO, and I'm not sure a slow motion replay really helps with that.
  18. Post-match appearances aren’t really interviews. They’re 3 or 4 extremely soft and unrelated questions that are basically an opportunity to say what you like.
  19. Absolutely ridiculous behaviour here.
  20. He didn’t cheat, he just followed the football convention of making every physical contact out to be much worse than it is. Still not his fault overall, VAR should have made a different call.
  21. If your hand accidentally brushes someone’s face when you’re already past them, that’s a foul and should result in a goal being disallowed? OK then.
  22. Yeah, 4 is about right, more likely to stay up than relegate.
