  1. I think most people just want more seats.
  2. Football is the afterthought for many people at SJP to be honest, I feel like it's more a problem with the fans than the stadium. Of course Everton fans have experienced a move and so will have more knowledge than me.
  3. Think we have to just realise and endure that this will be an up and down season right until the end. We played well and we're obviously very tight as a unit, but that also doesn't mean we'll suddenly go and beat Villa and Man City. Hopefully I'm wrong and we can put together some results in a row, but I'm not necessarily expecting that. Hopefully these kinds of reactions at least put to bed any arguments about Howe not having what it takes or not having ideas of what to do.
  4. Could try something like a sensor on the sports bra players wear so the location is constantly tracked, kind of where their centre of mass is. But would still lead to some weird offsides where the attacked isn't gaining any meaningful advantage.
  5. They are really terrible now but their injury list is truly horrific. Not sure which came first but I'm not sure a new manager is going to come in and these 12 reserve players knocking down doors in the PL. Might at least run more I guess.
  6. Something we don't have a lot of, a poised and neat footballer. Would probably have Miley, Hall and him as our most technically comfortable players. Maybe Barnes as well when he has the space. Don't think he'll ever look like the most eye-catching player but he's really nice to watch when playing well.
  7. The old way please.
  8. Aye I think it would be better. Of course you'd still get "daylight by a centimetre" but at least it would require the attacker to be clearly ahead of play and gaining an advantage.
  9. It's the application of the minute detail of the replay that is going to make any offside rule look bad. Even if it was feet then a foot would be an inch ahead of another foot in a weird position. Like I said, I can't think of any way to use VAR to referee offside well.
  10. Honestly don't know how you can solve it, particularly when the rule is combined with the detailed technology we've got. Will always add up to a decision that's completely against the spirit of the rule, but I don't know what you can do about it.
  11. Looks like he hasn't slept for days in the post-match, but at least he's smiling.
  12. Think he was signalling it was tight rather than ripped. Hopefully.
  13. Thought it was the best refereeing performance I've seen for ages. Got pretty much everything right, maybe letting a couple of small fouls go.

Slightly harsh, sounds like we really tried for at least Marmadashvilli and obviously Trafford.
  15. Came in to say the same thing, head up and looking for progressive passes. Weirdly before he came I thought his decision making of when to release the ball and when to keep it was one of his strengths. The pass he made for the Barnes back heel was pretty good.
  16. Any strident opinion works I guess, it’s moderation that doesn't get you clicks.
  17. Yeah but the problem is a systemic one for broadcast companies really. TBH there’s a problem with just employing ex-players anyway, no matter how bad they are at punditry.
  18. Hot but only because I know it’s based on Fabian Schar.
  19. I’ve always agreed that she’s a bit unhinged and certainly not very clever with the things she says. However, saying to her face that she has a career because of “DEI” is also out of order. And I feel TalkSport is not a great forum for this chat because it’s basically all just white male ex-footballers who can’t string a sentence together. I feel like the right argument is “it’s mental to expect Ian Wright to reject jobs specifically for you”, not “you’re only working here because you’re a black woman”.
  20. Aluko is either very idiotic or she’s playing this whole thing for more profile engagement. Maybe a bit of both. However, the idea that TalkSport has anything valid to say on this is pretty ridiculous and hearing Jordan say she has a job because of DEI (an American social media culture war concept anyway) is also pretty awful. The fact he’s empowered enough to say that to her face in the studio is also worrying.

Always been the same really, can cross a ball but is otherwise a terrible footballer.
