Maybe not right now but he will be.
-
That’s what I meant, typo.
-
It’s too early in Michell’s work with us to say anything about how he’s done IMO. The timing of his arrival was unfortunate but he still had the chance to make us a much better club.
-
Surely Ten Hag wanted all those players.
-
Absolute chancer, fair play with how much free time and money he’s made for absolutely nothing.
-
I mean, it’s always better to sign a cheaper better player.
-
Well we need both. Maddison paired with Bruno and Longstaff would be suicide. We signed one of the highest rated young midfielders in Europe, it was a great signing. The annoyance is that the betting thing happened and he couldn’t establish himself straight away.
-
Tonali was desperately needed, Longstaff was starting games for us. Sadly he got banned for a year.
-
We definitely seem to Have a more basic coaching staff than really elite clubs. But then, we haven’t been a really elite club for a long time. I would like to see Howe go and recruit a couple of new coaches TBH, but I have no idea how a manager goes about doing that. Must managers are very close to their team and work with the same staff for years.
-
Are you confident all of those are better than Howe?
-
I didn’t see the game today but I feel like he should’ve just started the exact same team as the last match. Bollocks to tiredness and all that shit. They were in good spirits and had just rattled the best team in the league. Taking out Gordon and Tonali seemed an error. That said, people have said we played well in the first half so I dunno.

I also hope you’re wrong. -
But standing at all was for fans, wasn’t it?
-
IIRC the second bit of the quote and the ‘unbelievable things’ is about winning the league and trophies etc, achieving the lofty ambitions that Staveley set. He also said that everything she said is still the ultimate ambition. It’s just more difficult because of the rules.
-
And how average he is.
-
If possible he would be class, yeah. But fear he's done too well for us to get him at a reasonable price.
-
Players wanting to leave is fair enough, I was more talking about actively planning to sell our stars to buy more prospects.
-
The midfield issues are caused by being so bad at retaining the ball as well. Killer in a team which wants to flood forward quickly.
-
But we’re challenging for top 4-6 now, where will we be when we sell star players for more prospects?
-
I understand this criticism, but also low blocks are hard to break down. That’s their purpose. Otherwise poor teams would just get smashed every week and finish the season on zero points. Particularly difficult if your team isn’t built for possession football of course.

Sounds achievable. -
I stopped reading at Craig Hope.

Fans’ heads have been fucked with due to PSR. Anyone who actually wants to sell Bruno or Isak is misguided IMO. Brighton are a club of loads of players at the same level, numbers on a spreadsheet, interchangeable with the next guy who comes along to replace them. I can’t speak for them, but I’d be surprised if their fans are always talking about out how much Carlos Baleba loves the club. Of course we need to manage our finances better and avoid desperation situations like this summer. But I really don’t want a ‘sell your best players’ strategy. I’m naive/optimistic in general obviously, but I really hope we can avoid becoming a soulless player import/export business.
