You can buy effective, versitile defenders on a budget how else does a player go up in value ? by being a relatively cheap purchase who performed well and boosted their profile.
-
Spot on. No club ever makes their budget public anyway and they'd be idiots if they did. TBF I dont wank over anything football related thanks, but in fairness the only positive I see from this being "leaked" is the fact it shows the new owner is keen to back the current manager and the club in general. I dont care if we spend 100million I have learned over the years massive spending does not = trophies, winning everything, beating everyone etc
-
Solano is a much better back up for RB but geremi is still young'ish and certainly would keep carr out the team "prays to the football gods"
-
And we have no evidence that we dont as no one knows what ashley wants to do but looking just at the intial buys and what we are being linked with does not mean anything.
-
or on the other hand we do have this magic 50m to spend but have a paper thin squad and have gotten rid of dead wood aswell we really need to buy these sorts of players as well as the bigger signings its a balancing act I would not say its a bad thing spending small so early on in the transfer window.
-
£50m to be honest Hes already spent over £8million But we got 6.5 back from parker so total spend is peanuts not 8m
-
that would make sense if we were to switch to a back 3 you really need a "no non sense" defensive unit with little to know creative play comming from the wing backs.

Cause this is newcastle united we EXPECT something to go wrong Dave come on now. Fucking hell not at this stage. owt is possible when your talking about the toon. Not that I'm one of the people thinking it won't just cant seem to get rid of that lil bastard of me sholder saying "john be warned if there was a way to fuck it up the toon will find it"

even the best teams in the world buy players where 100% of there game is perfect. You usually get two types of players the flair type that have the tendency to go missing. The ammount of times I remember screaming for robert to look at the ball when its heading towards his goal and he isnt helping the team to defend. Then there is the battlers no great skill but what they do they do well and will always put a performance in for the team. Now I'm not saying there is no middle ground in these two types but you certainly can see more elements of milners game being the hard worker type, and dyer the flair player who is very good on the ball. If and this is a big if we get rid of Milner I would want it to be for someone who is a massive improvement and as i have said before sinse we have other areas of the squad to strenghten a versitile player that can play on both wings who is only 21 is definetly worth keeping.

THF the main reason I see the want to jump on the "kick owen out bandwagon" is still the issue of massive investment with little pitch time. I personally would like him to stay as he does have at least 3-5 top years in him (injuries making the difference) and for the price we would get back to him I dont see there being a bigger shirt and marketing seller than owen.

I always appreciate other fans comming on here but I'm guessing this forum the majority of the people on here are newcastle fans either "always had a soft spot for them" or "life long fan or as long as I can remember" Making threads about who is better than who usually ends up with most going for the toon player. Sometimes I feel I could go anywhere to get a negative newcastle view fuck we are a negative bunch of supporters at times as has been highlighted by massively knee jerk reactions based on one or two performances. Lighten up is all I'm saying and if you really cant stand a newcastle love fest then why not fuck off to a forum where they only want you to rip things to shreads.

If we were to sign him (big if as far as im concerned) I can see the reasons for the move. He can play in more than one position and possibly SA is resigned to the fact that he cannot get a pile of players in so getting versitile players in is the key. The why's and wherefores of why someone would choose us and as usual we never do get to know.
-
This is newcastle we buy the best to spoil their talents. We make players injury prone. We stuff players in goal fish bowls. We give players 20 seconds on the ball if bad then hated by least 30% of fans forever. I could go on... The media just loves a dig at us as its easy as Dave said must be a very slow news day.....

you dont become a mega rich person unless you know how to play dirty even the elements of our board have seemed dodgy just you get more fucus when your one person to target. I personally have a bad feeling in my water about man city's take over just cause of what I've heard and worrying how a prime minister became so mega rich, and whats with the whole with holding his money etc. I do however hope it all goes well, when it comes to Owen why move to somewhere at potentially at level footing with ourselves (please dont shoot me for that) we on paper have the better players I believe but both have stars in the team and both seem to be close to mega rich owners. So there is no real reason to leave they arent a top four team and are as miles off as we are (if not further)
-
how about "hey I didnt know people could sit in a scale model for a 50,000 seater stadium wow shrinking technology must be advancing quicker than i thought"
-
I'd rather call it the "Hell, I didn't get the ball, what am I supposed to do now" routine... The best you might get out of it is a free kick. sorry Isegrim didnt quite get you until i saw your reply to nut, thought you never seen the lad put a tackle in, like ive just said the trouble with taylor is two fold shit manager to guide shit defence partner to learn off (who else used to stand off and jump up and down or flay their arms around hoping for offside *coughs* bramble) I think we should expect alot more from taylor as long as SA keeps the faith and keeps playing him he can also stay injury free and SA follows up with some older heads for him to learn and develop with then I see him comming on leaps and bounds.
-
Taylor is 21, terry, woodgate, carragher are late 20's realistically there shelf life when it comes to an england carear is one more world cup after that then I fully expect the new crop of cb's to have started to make their mark and if taylor continues to improve (remember he now has a decent manager to nuture him) then dont see why he cant get a place in the side.
-
I thought that was called "putting a player under pressure" or is that me not understanding Isegrim???
-
difference being taylor has age on his side and while i dont think he has the composure right now to break into the pack the likes of terry, carragher and ferdinand arent getting any younger. King potentially may always have injury problems same with woodgate. Feel it is one of these situations that if he is given his chance he may suprise a few people
-
owen, martins, shay. He is no longer the big fish in the pond and I'm sure any fat he does have SA will run out of him.
-
I only have one smoggie mate luckily and he said the same thing, doesnt see how they are going to compete well in the prem with the squad they have and the big fear is fewer season ticket renewels and even lower attendances. Great they kept woodgate and they have one of two very good players but I see them needing big improvement and Aliadiere does not seem to answer much . In regards to Gibson, some are wondering if his heart is as much in it now with his divorce looming.... gibson is a quieter version of FFS tbh he has already came out with the normal season ticket pulling phrases like "building for the future" "massive faith and support in southgate" "going to be really big signings that will shock and delight fans"
-
he will always have massive ties to the club no doubt he embassador role for the club will still continue under new rule. He played when bellers did so I really do think his opinion counts and first and foremost he is a fan of the club and obviously wants us to do well. Now we all know he cant stand the lil shit and if one of the press ask him about speculation to do with him returning what sort of reponse do you expect??

big ask for yakubu staying so much speculation obviously different sort of player of to viduka but there is still a void to fill and I question if this lad is good enough.
