ha ha, classless? us? http://www.wiganer.net/news/tmnw/classless_newcastle_left_to_recoil_after_some_bruising_788879/index.shtml Classless Newcastle left to recoil after some bruising By Paul Farrington Updated Sunday, 24th March 2013 Views: 2914 Wigan Athletic RSS Feed Alan Pardew and John Carver were left in a state of embarrassment this week as Massaido Haidara's injury was revealed to be some bruising. The 20 year old French full back was on the end of a hard tackle from Latics winger Callum McManaman. The ensuing incidents were escalated by Newcastle, and in particular manager Alan Pardew and his assistant John Carver. The duo created a scene that led to Carver being sent to the stands by referee Mark Halsey with Pardew's comments after the game particularly damning and disrespectful. Now news has emerged that Haidara will be out for just three weeks with a bruised knee. Perhaps it would be wise for the FA to take retrospective action against the Newcastle boss and send him to the same school of class that Latics boss Roberto Martinez exhuded in deadling with the same incident. After threats of legal action from Newcastle it will be interesting to see just what they attempt to chase the Latics with. Meanwhile a group of Newcastle supporters invaded the pitch of Wigan Cosmos who were playing their Saturday league game on a pitch nearby the DW Stadium. The Newcastle supporters continued to cause significant damage to the goals posts and associated equipment before the rabble moved on to their next target. This is truly an incident where retrospective action from the FA is called for.
  2. fucking hate him, especially for silence after relegation.. but it was impressive to hear him say that he new he was going to be world class when he was 12, and he such confidence in his own abilty.
  3. on football focus right now - feels did nowt wrong at the toon - wasnt his fault he got injured etc. never mentioned the lack of effort and leadership in the relegation season, never mind the poor form, and the lack of humility efter going down and staying around till the summer to make sure he got his huge loyalty bonus.
  4. it'll be that "Shambles Travel" on twitter, man. Lad I know went down with them and says they were already doing lines off CD cases within about 2 minutes of setting off. Doesn't surprise me though. When we were down in 05/06 one lad nicked the rugby ball just as someone was taking a conversion. i dont go away as much since starting a family, but does seem a lot more young'ns on away trips theses days which is a good thing i suppose. behaviour is disgusting but is the nicking the rugby ball not just just a tiny bit funny? made me chuckle.

    Horror tackle

And the media. ("missed") was fuming at that - should have been a pelanty and a red - was it 2-2 at the time? 1-1. was right at the end of the game as well, nobby just about to pull the trigger for the winner

You've got to be f***ing kidding me? After that horror show on Sunday (not just this tackle and their late goal, he gave them everything throughout the game), he shouldn't even be allowed to ref Notts County because they also play in black & white. be surprised if that isnt changed - but hope halsey does ref the derby - chance for us to let him know what we think of him, and also in the hope he may want to make amends. to be honest - its the linesman whose legs need breaking, the bloody coward
  12. just out of interest, did the tackle on haidara make the portugese press?

doesnt savage realise thats why he never made it at manu, and starred instead for the likes of brum, leicester, blackburn and derby. how the hell has he ended up with a column for the bbc?

savage spouting s**** as normal "McManaman will learn from it and that should be the end of it - at the moment I feel a bit sorry for him, although clearly I wish the young boy Haidara well too and hopefully he is not badly injured. But, speaking as someone who made my living out of tackling, I understand how it happened. I know that as soon as McManaman committed himself to that challenge then there was no way he could pull out of it. You sometimes have a split-second to decide whether to make a tackle and, if it was for a 50-50 ball like that one, then in my mind I would be thinking if anyone's getting hurt here, then it's not me. Most of the time, the other player is thinking the same. So I would go in as hard as I could to protect myself but my aims were always to win the ball and not get hurt. If you pull out, or go in tentatively, then it is you who gets hurt. It is a bit like a plane taking off, because there is a point of no return. Once you are past that, you know that if you have got it wrong then the outcome can be nasty." if you dont want to cripple someone, then dont take off knee high studs showing

De Jong's wasn't nearly as bad as this. I'm not sticking up for De Jong but a lot of the reation to that was down to who got injured and the extent of it. ref claimed he had seen the incident at the time and hadnt thought a foul - hence FA couldnt take action

hope so, even if it doesnt get anywhere - just to piss whelan off, and put the shits up that little chav cunt.
  22. I haven't read the thread as I'll probably just end up annoyed again but has it been mentioned that hundreds of Wigan fans were booing him when he stayed down? Even when he'd been down for 2 minutes and the stretcher finally came on, they were still on their feet angrily wavering their webbed hands. aye reminded me of the southampton fans when dyer had been taken out. absolute cunts. one of them even ran neary half the length of the stand to give him abuse as he was being stretchered off the pitch
