    Hatem Ben Arfa

Where is this 'he's fat' thing coming from? He managed to out-sprint a few of the spurs players despite giving them a couple of yards start.
  2. You would expect a manager not to have a go at the players after three consecutive buggerings? Ian, stop it. That is blatant man. The discussion is the recipient of the bollockings and not whether the manager should be having a go at the players. Every single time you twist the debate just to get some Pardew support in. I don't give a s*** what you think TBH, I'm saying that Pardew having a go at the players (including HBA and Marveaux and anyone else) is absolutely normal. It's not normal to single out two players though. He didnt nor did the article say he did, it was one of the bullet points by Ryder for extra effect no doubt. You dont mention the Santon bit or that he accused some of not caring enough as reasons to complain. Fact is only person singling out two players are Ryder/people not reading past that line tbh # That's true and i personally didn't put those words into his mouth because i was mindful he wasn't quoted as saying it. He did hide behind his players after the Spurs game though. He should have said they were in it together, that they will face it as a group. But he didn't, he's tried to distance himself from it.
  3. He's definitely feeling the pressure, hence his attempt to shift the focus. 'We all need to take a long, hard look at ourselves after that performance'. Would have been strong and balanced response in the wake of the defeat.
  4. He's hiding behind his players. Hate it when a manager does that.
  5. Undecided on the defence.... The rest: Sissoko Tiote HBA Marv Gouf Remy
  6. It's the fans fault.. /Brett
  7. I'm no fan of Marveaux and i've been critical of HBA this season. That said, those are the 2 players i wouldn't have critizied after Spurs. I think they both made a positive difference and i would have seriously considered playing them against Villa.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Give over, was a f***ing s**** pass, Ben Arfa was behind him just waiting for the ball and Cisse passed it out of play. No way is Ben Arfa being blamed for not moving there. I agree he's not fit or looking sharp but he's only going to get that by playing matches. He did well when he came on but once he realised there wasn't going to be a comeback, he wasn't bothered. He was coming to a DM position just to pick up the ball, least he actually wanted it. Not that he should be coming that deep, like. He was behind him waiting for the ball instead of moving along the right side line. The play was there and not behind Cisse. If hatem wanted the ball where Cisse put it, he would have pointed to the space, Hatem likes ball to his feet and that's where the pass should have gone. Playing it and then saying to Ben Arfa, well that's where you should be is just idiotic on Cisse's behalf. I wouldn't get all bitchy over one pass. That IS an over-reaction. Not as if it had any bearing on the game. Just brought up my emotion from last night arguing with fan near me who kicked off at Ben Arfa for being lazy and s*** when Cisse's pass was shocking. More reason to hate our cunty home crowd for the way they chant Ben Arfa's name (they didn't chant his name last night, like) then when he comes on they moan and groan the loudest when he loses the ball or tries to much. Just let hatem do what he wants, he's a class act who should be able to play the football in the manner he sees fit. You're coming down off the roofies, son. Go offline, take a couple more then come back on with more mindless optimism. It balances out this place against the rest of us.

  10. Well you lot do the Pardew criticism, no point having another one making the same points. Forum would be pointless if we just all banged on about the exact same thing. Pardew was massively at fault last night, we got beat 4-0 and we were tactically inept and outclassed by a Spurs side who weren't full strength or at their best. Doesn't just stop at the maangers door though, there's plenty of blame to be placed elsewhere too. You laughed at Wullie for him expecting it to be a rough evening. You thought his realism was funny.

HBA tried a few things. Think actually he'd benefit from playing with Marveaux. Would be amazed if they both started though. I do think a front 5 of: Sissoko Tiote HBA Marv Gouf Remy Would probs be a decent set up.

    Papiss Cissé

Not in anyway supporting Cisse's performance yesterday but i think i counted one time that he actually received the ball in the box (and that he fluffed) but, that's largely the root of our problems.
  13. I'm not particularly a fan of this lad but we did look better when he came on. His ability to instantly trap a ball and accurately pick out a pass set himself apart from everyone else on the park (of our lot).
  14. On the back of a 0-4 defeat i can't feel that just yet. Maybe tomorrow
  15. He was alright tonight. Nowt special. Never looked like scoring a goal. Maybe next time.
  16. Would love to be wrong but don't actually think any of them will make it as Prem players.
  17. You have to remember that for some people, the actual sporting part of it all, the football, is unimportant. For some, what's important is the pride in the association by supporting a football club that's owned by a man like Mike Ashley. What happens on the pitch is somewhat insignificant. However, belonging to a portfolio of businesses by a man of Mike Ashley's calibre, that can make a great deal of difference to their self-esteem.
  18. He isn't quick at all which is a shame but then neither was RVN. If he can play with intelligence he could turn out well (here's hoping, anyway).
  19. Am I reading that wrong or has he pretty much just thrown the towel in against Spurs with that statement? Maybe with the injuries and suspensions, Spurs excellent away form and our near bottom of the form table results, he's just not expecting 3 points. Neither am I.
  20. Actually think he just got caught flat footed. Coupled with his non existent recovery pace i think it made it look like he'd f**ked worse than he had. Justa bad body position to start with. Would be due to being unfamiliar in the role i would think. It's not recovery pace, he just can't be arsed. Has no urgency to his game whatsoever. He's not in Italy anymore man. He's been here for a good while. You think? I reckon he just has bad acceleration. Like, Shola bad. That and he gives up too easy
  21. Well, tbf, i don't think he's much of a LB.
