  1. How’s Sander Berge doing this year? The stats look good but has anyone seen him play?
  2. Odd he didn't switch the wingers around to get some early balls in the box. Just to get the defenders facing their own goal now and again.

    Sven Botman

He'll be in next game after that rick from BDB (playing Billing onside).

    Joelinton

Playing against a low block like Bournemouth while in a 3 man midfield is when I'd expect JL to show some attacking quality. He barely got in the box. I'd really expect him to show some drive and attacking intensity but he didn't offer much at all. Just a header in stoppage time.
  5. 7/10. Isak was a great step. Would have been a very ordinary window if it wasn’t for signing him.
  6. No doubt you’ll be able to sign another £80M player on the back of that ?

    Joe Willock

Agree with many in here. He’ll be useful in away games or when the opponents push up. Would’ve thought he’d offer more last night given that but I think he was wary of leaving holes in midfield behind me if he made some runs. Also, unfamiliarity with Isak.
  8. Yeah, he looks to have that cool snipers heart beat when facing goal. Very nice. Wrt pace, I think he’s using his top gear sparingly. He was no slouch in Spain.
  9. He’s not a target man and he can’t fulfil any role of a target man. He’s an over sized poacher who needs a target man next to him. With a central striker and 2 wide forwards either side, he’s completely redundant in our system.

    João Pedro

He looks every inch a Newcastle player tbh. Hope we get it done.
  11. I hear you but he’s in the 1st percentile for tackles and the 4th for pressures. Those stats aren’t bad, they’re atrocious ?
  12. Seko Fofana does not have impressive defensive stats from my 1st casual look about.
  13. Only chance is a low block and using the pace of Isak, ASM and Miggy on the break. Expose their defenders to one on one’s. If ASM is out we’re likely f**ked.
  14. I really like Eddie Howe. I always worry a bit when coaches rely on a team outrunning the opposition as a main route to victory. I don’t think that’s Eddie’s agenda his year tbh, I think it was last year. It’s clear he wants to have more possession which does make our opponents have to work more. I think that will be key to our injury situation. The high intensity press is a great way to put our opponents under real pressure and hopefully cause major problems in transition. But I think games like Man City will have taken its toll on our squad. We put in a tremendous amount of work in that game. Ideally we’d have a squad depth that could’ve meant we could do that again for Liverpool but we’re gonna need something else for that game.
  15. I have it on good authority that Mctominay is one of the best young midfielders in the world, maybe even one of the best at Man U!

    Joelinton

That’s not enough really. To only have a player who can tackle. He’s very capable of carrying the ball forward and he can play the ball forward to a decent level as well. Unfortunately he didn’t do those 2 much at all today. You can’t only put in a performance when a certain other player is on the pitch.

    Joelinton

I thought he was quite disappointing today tbh.

    Jacob Murphy

Surprised we haven’t tried to convert him to a RB. Has the pace and stamina of a modern FB and it keeps further away from the opposition goal. Maybe he can’t the hang of the positioning.
  19. Tbf Bruno was holding his groin after he came on against Tranmere.
  20. If he’s going on loan surely his wages will be the same? Or can clubs pay more as an incentive?
  21. He must have a reasonable release clause. He’s not going there otherwise imo.
  22. The loan fee could a factor. Also, frees up a squad place.
