  2. Because we always get the luck don't we? At the moment, any team up to Hull in 8th place could get relegated.
  3. 100% definitely would. Saw Shearer saying he was worried on MOTD yesterday. Lineker had a look that said he thought we were doomed.
  4. I do think that this season is going to be the final nail in the coffin for a huge number of fans. There is next to no pleasure to be had from following Newcastle United anymore. What hopes have we got? Hope not to get relegated? Hope all our 'best' players don't leave? Hope our owner sells the club? Hope we get a new manager? I'm sure a lot of people will be thinking that it's time to start spending their time and money on something less soul destroying. This isn't a knee jerk reaction. Let's face it, things have been pretty shit since Bobby Robson left. If we get relegated will your interest in the club be less than it is now?
  5. Why? There's at least 3 clubs in a worse position than us. Right now or by the end of the season?
  6. Why Nintendo thought seeing 'The Redknapp Family' playing on a Wii together would make people want to buy one I'll never know.
  7. Regarding money in football: - It would seem that Tottenham haven't been effected by the Credit Crunch with all the money they are bidding on players. How does Mike Ashley think he is going to "refinance" Newcastle in the Summer when banks won't lend to anyone? Player's wages don't seem to have been hit by falling attendances yet.
  8. He waxes/shaves his hands these days. Have a look next time he's on. Back in his GMTV days he used to present whilst half way through a werewolf transformation.
  9. I can see Butt leaving on a free at the end of the season. Supposedly Wigan and Bolton were interested in him. I no longer see what Newcastle have got that Wigan and Bolton don't have. Hmmm...that's an easy one! Twice better wage budget. Butt will be offered an extension with 50K a week while Wigan and Bolton can only make it with 20K or max 30K a week which would be more reasonable. Put yourself in place of Butt and think...JK offers me 50K a week and play me week in week out so should I take a cut and lose my position in the starting line-up at Wigan/Bolton? Your assuming we'll still be offering Premier League wages. Also, I think the attendance at St James' next season is going to be 40K maximum if we are in the Premier League and a lot less if we go down. Player wages will surely be influenced by this.

  11. Oh for fucks sake. Not even I am that paranoid. It's not paranoia, it's trying to make light of what seems to be a hopeless, depressing future.
  12. I assume Mike Ashley isn't interested in selling tickets to see Newcastle United FC next season. I can picture Mike Ashley in a Sunderland top laughing as he talks to the Media about his plans for Newcastle.
  13. To be fair he might do a job at Arsenal. They have players who can pass and move. Exactly. The opposite also holds true. Alan Smith and Nicky Butt looked good when surrounded by good players at Man U. Take them out of that environment and you see them for what they really are.

  15. According to nufc.com Geremi is contracted to us until June 2010 so it stands to reason we'd get some sort of fee for him. £1.5m is good but if you consider the club got a reported (but highly unlikely) £8m for Emre from Fenerbahce, ripping off Turkish clubs is what the current NUFC owners are good at. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/7429144.stm

    Uh-oh!

To be fair to Mike, with the very long odds he'd get from the bookies on us finishing in the top six, it's probably worth him betting £1m on us doing it. He'd recover all his credit crunch losses in one go if we managed it. It would seem our future is relegation this season or fighting relegation next season. It won't change until we are sold which isn't likely for at least two years the way the credit crunch is going.
  19. Had to laugh when the Media (BBC & ITV) last night kept describing Tottenham losing to Wigan as a "shock win" and "Wigan stunned Tottenham". You'd think Spurs were a top team flying high and Wigan were in the relegation zone.
  20. I can't see why Man City would loan us one of their players. At the moment they are in a relegation fight with us. Giving us Jo would help us wouldn't it or is Jo Man City's Alan Smith?
  21. Why is it that when anyone points out what a twat Alex Ferguson is the media say they've "lost it" or they've "cracked under the pressure"?
  22. Bentley is available for transfer and for around £5m? I can't believe Spurs have given up on him already.

    Fellaini

Don't they use video evidence when a ref didn't see the incident or is that only in cases involving Joey Barton?
  24. The club record for returning from the operation Martins is having is 11 days (Harper). He may be back in 2 or 3 weeks. Carr took 6 weeks.
  25. I think we might be able to get players loaned to us by foreign clubs. It's a chance for the players to try out the Premiership without committing. Out of contract players will also be interested. Apart from them, I'm struggling to come up with who we would be attractive to.
