  1. Surely we need (and should be able to get) a new manager until the end of the season? Chris Hughton's record isn't inspiring enough for me to trust him until the end of the season. Avram Grant? Alan Curbishley? Anyone is better than no one.
  2. It's good to see the psychiatrist community is so caring.
  3. It is a bit of a worry as they may get the new manager honeymoon period. If Middlesbrough sack Southgate they could do the same. Stoke having Ricardo Fuller injured for the rest of the season may put them in danger. It's too close to call. I'd be surprised if whoever Portsmouth replace Adams with does a worse job at picking up points than him. As has been said, we shouldn't have to rely on other teams and I hope we don't have to. It doesn't hurt our chances of staying up if other teams are awful.
  4. I'm as interested in Given as I am Bellamy, Dyer, N'Zogbia, Parker, etc. I.e. Not at all interested. They aren't our players anymore so who cares? I agree with that. The hype Given was getting was ridiculous. All 4 of Alves' shots were directly at Given. If he'd aimed at a corner of the goal he'd have scored.

  6. Having a mascot watch the game from the touchline and celebrate when the team scores. Having Cheerleaders.
  7. Given says "the club made me do something I didn't want to do" in that press conference on the BBC website. By that I guess he means hand in an official transfer request meaning he wouldn't get a loyalty bonus. He gets no sympathy from me for that but he is right in telling us what we already know: - The Owner, the people in charge of running the club, etc are a load of shite and we'll never win anything while they are here.
  8. Another reason why I'm shit scared Newcastle may get relegated: - http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_4896531,00.html

    ITV

ITV once cut to adverts during the last couple of laps of an F1 race missing the end. Everyone kicked off over that too.

  11. NUFC.com have the stats: -
  12. If it's any consolation he has previously said that he thinks he will retire at the end of next season.
  13. Points are what matter. We are two points off bottom and 19th and one point off 18th. Blackburn in 18th have a game in hand. We may not go into the drop zone until the last day but that's when it counts. If we don't beat West Brom we are up shit creek without a paddle. Have a look at our March fixtures. Can you see us scoring any points? We haven't won for eight games! We have played 24 games and picked up 24 points. That form isn't going to save us.
  14. Was there any notable transfers in Europe? I've not heard of any big moves in Spain, Italy, France or Germany. When did their transfer windows close?
  15. Speaking of clutching at straws, we can still sign out of contract players. Have Tottenham signed Stephen Appiah yet?
  16. We'll be fine if all our injured players miraculously recover from their injuries and keep fit for the rest of the season.
  17. Looking at: - http://www.newcastleairport.com/FlightInformation/ArrivalsDepartures.htm?ArrDep=To and http://www.newcastleairport.com/FlightInformation/ArrivalsDepartures.htm Newcastle Airport isn't closed. Some flights have been cancelled or delayed though. I can't see us signing any foreign players who aren't already here though.
  18. Wasn't Given offered a testimonial when he'd been here 10 years? I think he was but he didn't want it then. Who'd go to a testimonial for a player of a rival club? If you're that bothered just donate some money to Macmillan Nurses.
  19. Most people don't blame Given for leaving. What they do blame him for are: - Having his lawyer make it known that he wanted to leave the club before the transfer window opened. Handing in an official transfer request on January the 30th. Forcing a move in the Winter transfer window. He's a Man City player now. Forget about him.
  20. It would be wonderful if they got docked points but I won't hold my breath. Redknapp gets away with murder every time he speaks about other clubs players and nothing happens to him. I'm sure the FA would let him off fielding a player he shouldn't have. Look at Tevez and West Ham. Whoever goes down may be able to sue Tottenham next season if they stay up.
  21. The other one is that Man City and Newcastle are privately owned and therefore are under no obligation to announce transfer fees paid or received.
  22. Jonas is a credit to the team with his work ethic. I would always have him in the team. The problem with him is that he lacks that final killer pass. We already knew that he rarely scores goals from his record in Spain. He gets wrongly compared to Robert and Ginola. As far as tracking back and overall effort goes, Jonas is much better than those two. As far as goal scoring or creating goes, he isn't in the same league as those two. Unfortunately Newcastle don't have many players who can create goals. People look to Jonas to do it because he is a winger.
  23. Does the two in include Taylor I wonder? We pretty much know he'll be joining us considering he was in the tunnel wearing Newcastle training kit. It was denied by Owen last week.
  24. I thought it was Lee Clark who was called jigsaw You maybe right. I don't know for certain either way. Maybe Jonas has the same shot on him as Duff I.e. piss weak.
