  1. He was good tonight if you ignore the fact a striker's job is to score goals. He won the ball and chested it quite a bit. We had 20 corners and he never got close to heading any of them on target.
  2. Hopefully all the people who are happy Mitro is starting are still happy at the end of the game.
  3. Massive underperformance all season from Perez, Diame, Mitro, etc. We've done well to be second considering how mediocre to awful a lot of our players have been for most of the season. Clarke, Gayle and Richie are probably the only players to perform to expected standard or above all season.
  4. Sammy came on and did a good pass to Shelvey. Shelvey wasted it by blasting the ball over the bar.
  5. Newcastle fans enjoying Sunderland's relegation (if it happens) shouldn't in any way be connected with fund raising for Bradley Lowery.
  6. If you want to donate money to terminally ill children give it to a recognised charity like 'Make-A-Wish' or something. As tragic as Bradley Lowery's situation is, there are plenty of other children in the same situation.
  7. The thread title needs an update.
  8. Even though he'd been out injured for a while I didn't realise he'd slipped to being the 2nd top scorer in the Championship. Hopefully that will be an extra incentive for him to score more goals and end top scorer. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/top-scorers
  9. The Premier League are putting extra pieces of toilet paper on top of the turd to make certain it finally flushes. If they do get relegated do we get to say we relegated them (by not donating points to them like in previous, recent seasons)? A bit like they like to claim they relegated us last season (while ignoring years of club mismanagement, bad management, not investing, etc, etc).
  10. Found the answer: - Grant Hanley, Matt Ritchie (Scotland): 22.03.2017 Canada (h) Easter Road FR 26.03.2017 Slovenia (h) Hampden WCQ Aleksandar Mitrovic (Serbia): 24.03.2017 Georgia (a) Tbilisi WCQ Ciaran Clark, Rob Elliot, Daryl Murphy (Ireland): 24.03.2017 Wales (h) Dublin WCQ 28.03.2017 Iceland (h) Dublin FR Matz Sels (Belgium): 25.03.2017 Greece (h) Brussels WCQ 28.03.2017 Russia (a) Sochi FR Doubt Clark will be fit to go.
  11. Mitro, Diame, Perez and a few others have been a massive disappointment this season. I'm sure Rafa expected a lot better from them. That's 3 of the main players in the squad who aren't really cutting it. That leaves a void for Rafa to try to fill with 'lesser' players.
  12. So which NUFC players are away on international duty? Most of them need a good rest.
  13. Seems some people don't care about winning the league. For me, 2nd would be disappointing, any lower would be a disaster.
  14. It's wrong anyway as Middlesbrough is in the North East.
  15. I've said before, Rafa could keep the same formation if he must but play Murphy as the number 10 with Gayle up front.
  16. I wish Rafa would try two strikers against the 'lesser' teams. The upcoming two home games are must wins. Good performances wouldn't go amiss either.
  17. I notice all the people seeing the positives also seem to see us finishing 2nd. I'd like us to go up as champions.
  18. He's been terrific at RB all season, yesterday notwithstanding. Maybe defensively but not really going forward. He'll also be on decent Premiership wages. This has easily been his best season for us. Trouble is we had to drop down to the Championship for him to have a good season.
  19. I wouldn't keep him as he has demonstrated he can't cut it in the Premiership in midfield and he is only an OK right back in the Championship.
  20. If Rafa insists on playing the same formation then try playing Murphy as the number 10. Perez and Diame play one good game then put in a load of poor performances. They've both been a huge disappointment this season.
  21. Mitro, Perez and Diame having such erratic seasons, performing a lot worse than we'd have expected of them at this level hasn't helped our season. Even Shelvey hasn't scored very often. I'd expected him to have more of a goal scoring impact.
  22. I don't think our squad is fantastic so I think what Rafa has done with them away from home is quite an achievement. Rafa really hasn't harnessed the home crowd though. Unless they see attacking football they sit in silence by and large. Something is really wrong with the home performances. Every game is a huge one as Brighton and Huddersfield are breathing down our necks, rarely slipping up. I have more confidence away from home to a good team than I do to a lesser team at home.
